Over/under 2025 regular season wins

3.5 Northwestern, Purdue
4.5 Maryland, UCLA
5.5 Mich St, Rutgers, Wisconsin
6.5 Minnesota
7.5 Nebraska, Illinois, Iowa, Southern Cal, Washington
8.5 Indiana
9.5 Michigan
10.5 Ohio St, Oregon, Penn st.

Thoughts?

I think Indiana will return to earth in 2025. Take the under.

To win on the over for NU, they would need 2 more wins than their best result from last 8 seasons. Under seems to be the smart play.

Wisconsin at 5.5? Fickel’s seat must be getting warm.

Illinois will be over 7.5, They arguably have one of the easiest schedule in the B1G.
Indiana will take a step back, don’t see them winning 8.5 games.

With Ekeler as new ST coordinator we should win two games more than the 6 regular season games last year. I think we have a favorable home conference schedule and have one of the top QB in the conference that is no longer a Freshman.

I agree with Illinois. The fat man can coach, and knows how to win in the Big Ten.

I would be pretty happy if we get 8+ regular season wins. But I am beaten down by the last 8 seasons, so I am not expecting it. I feel like our special teams will take a step forward, but that gets swallowed up by a step back from the defense. Will need the offense to make a major step forward from last year if we are to sniff 8-9 wins. Could happen, and I hope it does.

Wisconsin schedule is brutal next year. Good thing they extended him prior - it’s going to be a tough year in Madison.

Agree with Indiana - would take the under.

Will be taking a mortgage out on the house and emptying my brokerage accounts to lay it all on the Huskers!!! Go Big Red!!!

If we can convincingly beat Cincinnati I would feel extremely confident in 8+ just because of improvement in st. That cost us atleast 2 game last year. If the rest of team improves too look out

I could see MSU taking a step forward this year. They have hit the portal hard the last two off seasons and have a super talented QB that just needs to take care of the ball better, with a HC with a reputation for developing QB’s.

We’re so beaten we privately say to ourselves “can we please get at least 8 wins” all while knowing how pathetic that sounds when you say it out loud… 😞

just don't see the talent on our depth chart. will need to see a lot of players to emerge into the above average category. an upgraded brand of team football might emerge. possible 7 wins. 6 likely.

I haven't looked but Rutgers rights a pretty tight ship I think they get to 6. UCLA also could get to 5.

Based on this our schedule looks like an absolute cakewalk
Out of our 9 conference games
5 opponents predicted to have fewer wins
2 opponents predicted to have more wins
2 opponents predicted to have same # wins

Seems like we should go 6-3 in conference. Beat Cincy, and we should be 9-3. Would like to see it. I think 7-5 is more likely.

Colorado is 6.5. Interesting that Vegas thinks we are only one game better. Feels to me like we should be several games better. Think i'd go under on the Buffs.

The bar should be set at 8 wins and anything above that bar should be considered great and show this program is on the rise. I think we see at least 8 wins with a really good chance at 9 wins which would get us into a great bowl game for once.

Loss probability - highest to lowest for the top seven teams on the schedule (Vegas over/under). If the team plays a pretty clean season, the game against Iowa should determine whether NU wins 8 or 9 games.
PSU (9.5)
Michigan (9.5)
USC (7.5)
Iowa (7.5)
Maryland (7.5)
Michigan State (5.5)
Minnesota (4.5)

Iowa at 7.5 sticks out to me as well...their schedule is pretty brutal this year for once and they lost a ton of defense. But Iowa sometimes does better when the expectations are lower, which they will be this year.

Minnesota 4.5? I know they lost their QB but I thought they also picked up some decent guys - as much as I dislike that little leprechaun Fleck, he has proven to be a pretty solid coach.

Agree with others on Indiana....I think they come back down to earth this year.

Luke was a horrible hire.

Too early to count W's for me. I will say the big step for us this year needs to be that we win at least one that no one sees coming. That and we need to start handling lesser opponents.
