Is there a less athletic team in the Big? Northwestern? FH did a poor job on the recruiting front last year during a season with a lot of good publicity.
It will not, school have shown they stick by him. But I suppose Fran McCaffery will be available at the end of the season if we want him instead.

Time to light a fire under that coaching hot seat. With NIL and all of his experience, it is ridiculous that all Fred could buy is a couple good players. In the three point era great guards are required and we have one very good one and bunch of “guys,” none of whom deserve to play a lot of minutes.

If we miss the conference tourney I say probably move on. It’s tough because we made the tourney just last season so it wouldn’t be shocking if he got another year. Our team looks as uninspiring as they did before the first game was played

Well, that’s all she wrote folks. We’re not making the tournament unless we have a miracle 2nd half of the season. We just don’t have enough scoring and our perimeter defense just continues to suck balls. We can’t even defend the 3 against teams that suck at shooting 3s. Just terrible…
And we just don’t have consistent 2nd and 3rd scores when the opponent shuts down Williams. Gary had a good game, but he’s not enough offensively and he totally disappeared down the stretch when we needed him most.
Honestly, I’ve been thinking about this for awhile but really wanted to see several games against B1G opponents to confirm. It was the same shit last year we just had Tominaga and Mast and they lifted us to some key wins. After the aTm beating it was clear we were lacking elite/good backcourt (point guard specifically) play and we weren’t big enough and athletic enough at the wing position.
And while Fred brought in some guys and we got a marginally better at the post. We’re still weak at the same positions as last year, point and wing. We didn’t address our two biggest weaknesses and that’s on Fred.

1996 NIT Champions was the pinnacle of this program. Glorious ending to a season that was completely dead in the water at one point. That could happen again this year.
