My brother is being released from the hospital tomorrow!!I want to thank everyone here for their thoughts and prayers since October 15th! We all can have our differences but this board is a pretty special community. And there are much bigger things than football. Life is extremely fragile, the older I get the more I realize that reality. I also have learned never to give up hope because I admit I basically did based on what the doctors were telling us. They are describing his recovery as miraculous based on his condition when admitted. His kidneys started functioning on their own last week so has escaped lifelong dialysis. Lastly, get those checkups!. Brian had diabetes 1 and didn't know it. His blood sugar was 1200 when we found him in a coma. Normal is 100 ish. Once again thank you for your prayers, and if a loved one is extremely ill, never give up hope!
