UNI week PC notes

My post is filled with context and nuance.

It’s a post for its time.

Seasons change and so can I.

Nobody was more complimentary of Rhule than I was starting two weeks after this post when he made a change at QB and gave the team a fighting chance.

That rubbed people the wrong way, also.

Almost as if some people will never be happy with what I say.

Funny
Can you do a query on how many of your posts are in reference to your past posts?

Not really, no.

He reminds me of everyone’s favorite politician.

All the posts in here took place after a massively disappointing week 0 loss in which Rhule played a kid he said he wouldn’t which cost us the game.

You all may have your fun. I own every word I wrote. My hand is up. I’ll be right here owning it as long as you wish to relive it.

Just remember nobody was a more outspoken supporter of Rhule starting week 3 of last season.
The posts you.made weren't outlandish at the time. Some people just hate facts that get in the way of their line of thinking.
Except the part you said Sanders was genuine. That was dumb.

He caught the pass behind the line of scrimmage. I don't think its illegal when the pass doesn't cross the neutral zone.
I missed that.

That would be very interesting because he was past the LOS on his route where the WR pick occurred, but you're right, he came back in behind the LOS when catching the ball.

If that's not a penalty then we need to run more WR pick plays in that fashion.

That’s one thing completion percentage doesn’t factor in, especially when comparing two QBs. Was the incompletion a good throw away or a bad pass into triple coverage?

Luckily, DR has thrown several incompletions that were great throws into the stands instead of forcing a dangerous ball.
Yeah, and a lot of people said he's only a deep ball passer and would struggle with short and intermediate routes. Wrong.

That’s a really dumb thing to think because he’s been almost overly conservative with not taking deep shots.

I was at both games this season and there were multiple times were the deep ball was there and he threw it underneath. That is not a criticism, I have no idea what the progression is or anything like that. But I’ve seen multiple times where we hit a crosser underneath while having someone available deep.

He’s much more than just a deep threat passer.

I think we broke them for the rest of the season.

Yeah, and a lot of people said he's only a deep ball passer and would struggle with short and intermediate routes. Wrong.

The thing is, anyone that said that didn’t really watch much (or any) of his highlights and/or game film. It jumped right out to me, like most people, that the kid has a cannon for an arm. Makes long throws look almost effortless. Next thing I noticed was his touch and accuracy on short and intermediate passes. Really rare to have those sort of skills plus natural arm talent in a 19 year old.

-best week of preparation of all three weeks-now have tangible film to see where to improve-scout team players are now stepping up after seeing them get some opportunities in game-special teams is not an issue in practice-Dylan Raiola is “rare”-Jahmal Banks is a difference maker-special teams has to do it in-game, not just practice-we prepare our tail off and the games tell us the truth-Coach Rhule has to be a better job of not being candid, the special teams unit does a ton of great things-Colorado is as skilled a team we’ll play this year-Tristan’s been getting effected by the snaps. The snapping competition has been opened up this week-Jaylyn Gramstead could go in and move the offense - he has “it”-scout team is really improved-Would rather play an FBS school that loses compared to an FCS school that wins-Northern Iowa knows how to win-a chance Javin Wright can return around the week of the Purdue game-LSU TE Transfer Mac Markway tore his ACL his third practice at Nebraska-Mikai Gbayor’s targeting appeal was DENIED-Iowa is one of the most well-coached, sophisticated defenses in football-Northern Iowa plays Quarters defense-Northern Iowa is a Big Ten team, that happens to be playing at the FCS level”
