Signing day PC notes

Good, I think Haarberg would make a really good TE. I've heard more than once he is one of the fastest guys on the offense. He has great size. He has some tenacity. I'm projecting he'll be our starter next year.
No. He will be a 3rd or 4th stringer. At best. He doesn't have the frame to block if he were even good at it. HH is going to get a 10 times better entry level position wherever he wants with his major in this State and there is nothing wrong with that.

Tight end would be the only place that could possibly offer him an opportunity at the next level, and he need to make a Herculean jump in skills to get time at that position. Like, a Rick Ankiel moving to the outfield kinda transition. I don’t see it.
He is already playing at his highest level. He isn't nearly physical enough to think NFL TE.

He's barely had any time practicing the position. Practicing full time at a position will make a big difference, and I think he did just fine in the times we lined him up at the TE position.

I'm on board if Dana thinks Satt can do the job well.
Man, that 36 minute Press Conference took forever to get through today. First of all, Matt looks a helluva lot better when he cleans up that scraggly beard into just a fu manchu or whatever its called.

Secondly, that 36 minute pc took me way over an hour to finish. I get trapped in those ads when them sweet things are talking about their man getting up and staying up for hours. Every 15 minutes, I'm telling my wife, "Make damn sure you buy some Baking Soda at the store." Then its, "Make sure you buy some green peppers."

Then I'm wondering what the hell happens if I include both baking soda and green peppers. It's a quandary.

When you're 70 years old and looking to put some more lead in your pencil, those ads come off as more meaningful to me that anything Matt says.

His best position is probably a short yard/goal line wildcat qb who can also throw the ball occasionally (below average). A less talented tebow.

saw the press conference yesterday.. Matt always does a good job at those things.. came away feeling ok about things.. would like to see what is going to happen on special teams and some of the personnel stuff coming and going. I think keeping HH around is a good idea. He's an H-back emergency runner type of guy that isn't going to get a lot of snaps, but that's not a bad career either.. stay in shape, get a couple calls a game, if that.. try and make it through 4 years in the league.. he'll be more than okay.

So I'm not clear if McGuire is sticking around or not. I know Dana said he wanted two WR coaches. Does anyone know or is it still up in the air?

I’ll be mildly surprised if McGwire sticks around but working for Dana would be a smart career choice for him if he does.

Maybe the guy has committed to coach in a bowl game?
Butler is contractually committed to coaching through the bowl game at least. It’s a good chance to show what he can do for prospective employers. I believe Rhule is still looking at other options. People forget that Pelini’s resume included a couple of years as an NFL position coach and that was it. Butler’s resume is deeper than that. Rhule’s a defensive guy. I think he’ll make a good choice.

If it lasts for more than 4 hours you need to call your physician.
Thanks man, I'd love to test that theory sometime. I know my back wouldn't cooperate.
I'm a lot closer to 40 seconds or 4 minutes than I am to 4 hours.
(Don't laugh, your times a comin').

-“Iowa was almost shocking how it ended”-

Apparently, someone hasn't been paying attention . . . I like the guy, but he has to be the only person in Nebraska who found the ending "almost shocking".

Pelini was a rising star in the NFL. Bo was a full-time NFL coach at 30. Butler at 41. Look at what he did after his DC year for Frank. DC, DC, HC, FCS HC, DC. Butler went to a NFL position coach after his DC stint, something Pelini did when he was 30.

Not even a close comparison.

Glad Rhule admitted how stupid the no handshake thing was and hopefully corrects it like he said he would.

^^ Could be wrong but the perfect scenario would be he's still coaching his team. HOWEVER Rhule seems to be preparing us for something different. Can't wait to see what they come up with for the bowl
