Fire this guy, fire that kid, fire him!

We are less than two weeks removed from outplaying a top 3 team in their own stadium on national television with a hobbled true freshman QB at the helm -- a game we deserved to win where the cards were stacked against us from the outset.

This is big boy football. The players are all good. The coaches are all good. The refs suck, but what can you do?

Now Dana Holgoerson of all people is the savior? LOL

Every game left on the schedule is winnable. Raiola needs to throw the damn ball. THROW THE DAMN BALL. Forget your stats as they are already in the tank. Throw the ball to your receivers and give them a chance to make a play. #17 is a good guy to look for when in doubt.

Rationally I agree with you. I admit I have lost my shit this week. However, I pretty much think it's justified at this point. We should not be getting completely outcoached and outplayed on our home field by a 2-5 UCLA. Something needs to change.

We haven't played a good game all year except for tosu and they were looking ahead to psu. We're a steaming pile of crap

Nothing will happen during the regular season. After, pink slips need to be handed out. Those are the facts. The program is regressing badly. Dont be foolish.

Every game is winnable? For Christs sake Iowa is beating the urine out of everyone at home this season. We can’t beat 2 win teams how do you think all remaining games are winnable. Your post has to be satire.

College Football is a huge business and we bring in too much money to be this bad.

People like to bag on "Coach Prime", but he fired all of his coordinators after last year, and got rid of over 30 players...and they have been showing improvement this year. He doesn't put up with mediocrity.
Colorado is tied for 2nd place in the Big 12 right now….they can make the championship game. Win that and they are in the playoffs!! You can say that right now CU is getting the slightest sniff of the playoffs. Yes it helps they moved to the Big 12 which is a shell of what it was before but the point stands.

Facts over feelings. This is also a business and people get paid lots of money to produce. We go through this every year , cut em loose.

This reaction has been building since last fall. Our offens most notably our QB play was inexcusably bad last year. His play calling against IU and now UCLA was excruciating and not fair to our freshman QB.

The job of college football coaches and players is to entertain, if they want to coach and play they can do it in front of empty seats. If they suck on the field we will get our entertainment off the field. They have played about 6 straight relatively unwatchable games, low entertainment value, frustrating exhibitions in missed opportunities and just poor football. The natural reaction is for us to watch a guy get fired and have HOPE that next week something will be watchable. This is why you do in season changes...whether qb or coaches...give the team and fans hope. Rhule is not doing his job by producing an entertaining product and should be fired. Bringing in Dana is probably a scam, and Rhule should pay for it out of his pocket, but it at least gives some hope for something different, and a transition from Satt to Dana over the off-season. The entire charade is about petulance and entertainment...fanatics are supposed to act this way. If you want to be a decent, wholesome, upstanding person then ignore being a fan. There are millions of good people, with good hearts who do not care about college football because it is a cesspool of depravity and greed. The people on this board are degenerates who love to be entertained and are going to be childish when they don't get their way.

The sane part of of me mostly agrees with the OP but watching this team mostly regress as the season goes along makes me insane. The offense, defense and special teams too often look like they've learned nothing since the first game.
Sane people aren't college football fans, fanatics are....people complain about the state of the economy, inflation, taxes and then spend thousands or more a year on an amateur football team in the middle of nowhere.

10% of our players are really good.
20% of our players are unproven (Freshman, haven’t seen the field)
70% are underperforming. Like REALLY underperforming for 3-5 years

We need a SERIOUS roster overhaul!

There is a part of me that understands what you're saying.. I have to emotionally detach from this and turn it around and make fun of it, so it doesn't suck so bad... it's been this way for a long time actually. Leftover sentiment from the Frost years no doubt, and the circus just keeps repeating...

The play calling is bad. But I think the execution is even worse. They are calling decent plays but they cannot execute it for sh*t. Screen passes against blitzes up the middle? Sure, great idea. I wonder what the hell they are doing at practice. First of all, they should be able to execute the plays. Second, if they cannot execute a play it should show up in practice and then they should take that play off the play sheet. What are they doing at in-season practices? The offense looked pretty good out of fall camp. Now, the execution has fallen off a cliff. Rule one in coaching is nothing stays the same. A well used knife must be sharpened or else it gets dull and unusable.

The play calls may be okay BUT if you watch the guts of the plays, the things they ask some of the players to do are only executable by Superman. I think the problem lies at times in the play call not being appropriate for what the defense ends up in. I lay that at Satterfield not having good audible options for Raiola to check in to at the LOS.

Maybe the overreaction came when we played Ohio State close.
This right here. After getting our shit pushed in by Indiana, we played Ohio State a little better, but still shit down our leg when it mattered. I’m convinced that had Nebraska played Indiana closer and lost to Ohio State the same way, that some folks would be MORE upset and frustrated that the team just can’t get it done. They instead try to waterboard themselves into believing that there was a moral victory in Columbus, based upon the previous games poor outcome.

Man, to each their own but moral victories stopped being a thing for me sometime around 2019. We've lost close so many times I don't know how anyone could see a positive from another one? It's just another failure.

OSU is no top 3 team.

Nebraska actually needs to Run the Ball to take pressure off the young QB.

The schedule is winnable, but it starts with an Identity and HH likely should have been the starter this year to ease in the freshman a few series a game, not to put everything on his shoulders.

Had we done that, our record would indeed be different.

What we have is a mickey mouse coaching staff given to you by a bunch of head coaching gobbledygook that sounded nice to those with the purse strings.

Oh, I’m in complete agreement. Just saying, the vibe I got was that some took the OSU loss as a moral victory because it wasn’t as bad of a loss as Indiana.

I’m with you on running the football. When Satterfield calls runs now it’s literally almost comical. It’s like the running back runs into a wall and falls down.

Remember against Colorado that Rhamir run off the pitch that got called back from some phantom holding call? Why the hell have we never run that again. Like seriously I don’t think we’ve ever run it again.

Therein lies a part of the problem. Many fans feel the same way you do. But to these kids on the team, it was a moral victory. They don't know the backstory and don't really care. Everything I see with this team's on field performance tells me that they sure as hell are the type of team to appreciate moral victories and judging by how flat they came out against Indiana and UCLA, I think they took both of those teams too lightly.

How about scrambling when your receivers aren’t open and getting first downs with your qbs legs if you need to-and sliding to avoid big hits that get them injured?

OP delivers a certified Husker fan coping classic:

1) stop being mean!!
2) b-b-but the refs
3) we played [insert team who overlooked us] really close
4) if you ignore our record the coaches and players are actually really good

Have you been under a rock the last 10-15 years? Just maybe the fans are a little sick and tired of mediocre to bad football being displayed year after year after year! .
So we just continue to fire everyone at the end of every year? How would that work out? No one knows what Rhule is planning to do by the end of this season, he does have a back-up in place for an OC with Thomas and Holgorsen in the wings. You can grab any coach out there and there is no guarantee. Our history is proof of that. Hell, even TO was on the cusp of being outed at one time. If your a fan, support the team and hope for the best longer than a year and a half. I'm so sick of hearing the fans deserve more side of things. If they make a bowl game this year our goal has been reached. Until the we need to quit this whining!

I agree with this. However our coaching staff looks clueless. I just don’t get worked up anymore and would rather live in the realm of truth.
