Trev to Texas A&M?

I found this funny:

During his three-year stint in Lincoln, Alberts is credited with a handful of accomplishments, including hiring football coach Matt Rhule and helping land a 15-year, $300 million multimedia rights agreement with Play Fly Sports. Additionally, "Volleyball Day in Nebraska" drew 92,000 fans to Memorial Stadium — the largest attendance for a women's sporting event in history.

quite a list of "accomplishments".

whatever. don't let the door hit you on the way out, blockhead.
I get that you want to crap on his accomplishments and all, that he really hasn’t done much, but the fact that A&M has the money to go after any AD in America and they chose Trev says something about his potential.

If you disagree that’s fine, but instead of pointing to his lack of accomplishments, what have his missteps been? Not firing Frost soon enough? Firing him too early in his final season? Not firing Hoiberg?

All in all, I’d say he would be an attractive get for just about any athletic department. But what do I know?

Albert's currently makes more at Nebraska than what the previous A.D. made at A&M. So is A&M just going to pay double what they had previously been paying? Seems like a big jump.
If Albert leaves for not much more than what he's currently making, then there's something seriously wrong with UNL.

taking 2.75 years and needing a public admonishment by his football coach to embrace NIL is a pretty glaring misstep

Not sure it would be a colossal failure. More like a step in the right direction. Not ideal, but better than what we've be forced to endure the last few years.

That said, I expect 7 or 8 wins and would be somewhat disappointed in a 6-6 season.
this you before the season?

i'm not sure we disagree, other than you're playing for forum politics points and i have a better relationship with reality.

Possible candidates for Nebraska AD position?
I can’t believe we can’t keep anyone here for more than 3-4 years

Of course that all revolves around success of the football program, except in Shawn Eichorst hire…

Damn. Not sure if the loss is really that big other than legacy optics, but either way, F that dude if he goes.

going from "somewhat disappointed in a 6-6 season" prior to year 1 to "5-7 in year 2 is fine" is quite the downshift for our friend @JOHNNY N

I guess we'll see what year 2 brings. You troll a free football board. Not sure how that a better relationship with reality. But do you bud. You and kong are amusing. This will be a big day for you 2.

Trev was fine, didn't hit it out of the park but did just fine hitting singles with runners on. When it comes to Nebraska, we really start every inning with runners in scoring position. It should NOT be that hard to be a successful AD at Nebraska. But for some reason we've hired complete bozos at the position. Shawn Eichorst? Steve Pederson? Hell, even TO is a terrible choice in anything resembling a modern operation.

Bottom line is we should be in the market to hire someone really good and should move forward without a glitch. We'll see though, our track record for hiring the positions that matter is terrible.

Also, I have to wonder if @redli didn't ask the question that we all should be wondering.

our chancellor has been on the job for 9 months and I'm not sure he's ever hired an AD before

the system president is serving the role on an interim basis

smells like another job for a "national search firm"

Oh, not much. Just a coach f___cking a player on road trips, the coach fired, the player ejected from the program, lawsuits, articles on ESPN.... that sort of stuff.
Haha nice. I don’t follow women’s hoops so had no idea. Two consenting adults wanna bang then go for it

I think the biggest issue is the timing. We don’t have a President. The chancellor is brand new.

How many people want to take a job where you don’t know who your boss is?

Benning should be on the radio in about 12 minutes with his old bit of

"listen, listen listen, I hinted about it but I could not come out and say it BUT if you just looked at his body language and I am a big body language guy, well, you could see it coming"
You do that a little too well. Are you Benning?

I am not holding anything against Trev for leaving. It’s his career and I don’t blame people for taking new jobs.

But the timing is not great. It’s less than ideal timing.
