Had a few transfer notes to pass along as visits ramp back up today for Nebraska

- Georgia Southern transfer linebacker Marques Watson-Trent has arrived at Nebraska for a two-day official visit. The Huskers worked quickly to get him on campus. He was the Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Year this season after recording 118 tackles, 7.5 TFLs and 1.5 sacks. Has one year of eligibility remaining.

- Wake Forest has entered the mix for Washington State transfer offensive tackle Fa'alili Fa'amoe as former Washington State head coach Jake Dickert is now leading the Demon Deacons. He's in the process of scheduling a visit there, we'll see if Nebraska or Michigan can prevent that trip from happening. Both programs were expecting a final decision this week, but understood he could opt to take more visits. Dickert taking the Wake Forest job was an unforeseen variable though, the familiarity could see the Demon Deacons overcome the NIL and on-field opportunities the Huskers and Wolverines have offered.

- UCLA transfer defensive back Jaylin Davies will arrive on campus today, he's spent the past three seasons with the Bruins after starting his career at Oregon. Across his career, he's recorded 108 total tackles, two tackles for a loss, four interceptions and 11 passes defended as well as a forced fumble. Veteran defender who had 30 tackles this season.

- As we reported last week, West Virginia transfer linebacker Trey Lathan will visit this weekend, he's expected to arrive on campus on Friday night/Saturday. (With Watson-Trent’s commitment, this visit isn’t happening)

- Nebraska is getting Baylor transfer safety Corey Gordon on campus this weekend. The redshirt sophomore had 34 tackles and three interceptions for the Bears this season. Huskers have been looking for a veteran safety, here's one that would make a ton of sense for what they're looking for. He also visited Alabama prior to the dead period. As things stand, this trip is tentative, as is Arizona defensive back Marquis Groves-Killebrew. Plans are fluid for both, though I get the indication the Huskers would like two more defensive backs if they can find the right fits.

Expected weekend visit list

Jan. 2
UCLA senior DB Jaylin Davies
Georgia Southern senior LB Marques Watson-Trent

Jan. 3
Auburn freshman DL TJ Lindsey (2024 four-star prospect, as we reported early this week)

Jan. 4
Arizona junior CB Marquis Groves-Killebrew

Quick update: Corey Gordon is no longer expected in town, neither is Joshua Donald. Alabama hosted Gordon before the dead period. Trey Lathan’s visit cancelled as well
