If Riley was 15-20 years younger do you think his seat would be as warm as it is or do you think he would be more likely to get 5 years?
Bo could have verbally abused Dirk C on a daily basis if he beat Iowa and Wisconsin consistently.None of it matters if you're taking care of business. And it's clear that we are not doing that.
Young, old, blind, one leg, irritable bowel syndrome.
Snyder is 118 years old. Saban wears an ass for a hat 100% of the time, both on and off the field. Gundy can't lose the '80's look. Leach probably has a human hair collection somewhere in his house.
Nobody cares about that stuff if the team is doing well.

For me it is a little bit. Say we keep Riley and it takes and he got it rolling next year. Man at that point he's starting to get up there and you have to be thinking what if. Now you bring in the Frost factor and the potential to maybe hire a guy that would be our coach for the next couple of decades and you have to wonder why wait and have to start all over a few years from now. Age wasn't an issue for me when we hired Riley but it's starting to creep in there now.I don't think age is a factor at all.

But the question was is age a factor on whether or not his seat would be as hot. If Mike Riley was 50, took over a 9 win team, went 6-7, 9-4 and 4-4 with ugly losses, his seat would be just as hot as it is now. Especially if there was a fan favorite 40 year old former Husker in the candidate pool.
maybe for most. Part of my concern about Riley is even if he does get it going now after 4 years, how much longer is he going to go. IF the prospect of starting over is looming 5 years down the road for me it makes it easier to pull the plug. But the question was is age a factor on whether or not his seat would be as hot.
