Too much passing is what cost us this game

Our coaching staff is displaying their incompetence for all to see this game. Any coach worth his salt knows that you don't rely on your backup QB to win a game with his arm; you play a field position, run the ball type game.

Our top 3 RBs this game:
Newby 10 runs for 5.6 per
Cross 8 runs for 4.9 per
Ozigbo 4 runs for 6.5 per

Those stats clearly show the run was working. Our OC gives up too easily on the run after a negative/negligible play. He needs to be fired now.

Passing the ball 48 times resulted in 4 INTs. This what killed us this game.

The run was there all day. If they committed to it they would have got 400+. The media guys are saying it wasn't, but it was.

Well, we were lied to when the coaches said they would tailor the offense to the strengths of the players. That's obviously not the case, and hasn't been all year. For as average as our OL is, we are much better at run blocking than pass blocking. Everytime our QB drops back it seems like he's scrambling for his life.

Fyfe, despite what limitations he has, still threw for 4 TD's and over 400 yards passing. He's not chopped liver, he's a serviceable back up QB that had the coaches not put the game on his shoulders should have been the winning QB today. The RB's and OL could have and should have carried us to victory today.

Big 10 crew said as much. They couldn't believe we didn't run it more. Horrible play calling by Langsdorf, horrible defense by Banker, DB coach might as well go, too. Oh wait, we're headed in the right direction. So we get to watch this crap for another 3 yrs. Sorry, this isn't NU football. This is a level I have never seen, it's so terrible.

I'd put this loss squarely on the Defense. O scored plenty of points. This D just can't make a stop when it needs to!

Um the D wasn't great obviously, but when the O has five turnovers, your D will be put in some bad situations. There isn't a single point of failure in this team; all facets are poor and contribute to the loss.

Agreed, i was thinking it was more not enough defense. Us scoring over 40 points on Purdue should beat them every single time. No excuses and im not going to try and blame one player, one coach but the whole dam team im blame, coaches and players. The 2015 Huskers are just simply a bad team all the way around. Man how Abdullah and Gregory made use such a better team.

Did you notice how many of those points the O scored after Purdue had been handed 28 points off turnovers?

The defense was not very good, but the offense was an absolute train wreck. How many teams win games when they give away that many points?

Granted D was put in bad position but couldn't even hold a 1 win team to a FG

C'mon fellas, why run the ball??? I mean Purdue was last in the Big Ten in rushing defense.......Plus NU only plays the starters and they might get tired, if they had to consistently run block...... Remember the pipeline days???? Yep, don't want any of that kind of depth. Give the starters all the reps, Cavs!
