Did anyone catch his facebook live webcast last night? He has his reservations about Coach Frost (and I suppose that's fair to a certain degree) but he came across as petty and almost downright jealous...Tommie's a very opinionated guy and I can certainly appreciate a perspective that's not always rose-colored glasses all the time, but I have a hard time understanding his take here.

He was at the Creighton game last night decked out in Creighton gear. He must be taking this really hard.

Mr. Frazier is gonna get crucified for not toeing the company line. I felt bad for him until the Creighton thing.

Isn't there any way to get him back in the fold? With as much as he did for the program there has to be an AD job Moos can give him. What is Shevin Wiggins doing these days?

Tommie has a big ego. Most consider him to be one of the greatest college qbs of all time. At the very least the greatest in Nebraska history. But whose highlights have been lighting up screens this entire year? Scott Frost's. If Scott is successful here he will be remembered as the Savior of Husker football, the greatest Husker of all time. Tommie doesnt have a heisman to cling to like Rodgers or Crouch. Scott is a threat to his legacy simple as that.

We ran into Tommie in Lincoln years ago. Both our boys had on #7 jerseys. We asked him to sign them. Already had Wistrom, Peter, other various sigs. Tommie said outright, "NO! Him and I don't get along."

Typical of him. I once saw him reject a little girl ( maybe 7 yrs old) who asked him for an autograph.

Frazier was a great qb. Best we ever had. But not a kind person.

Maybe to some fools, but anybody that actually watched Nebraska knows the deal. TF was the GOAT.

I thought once Frost was hired all former Huskers were going to hold hands and sing Kumbaya. Just four days ago it was declared Husker Nation had been completely healed. Was I misled?

The guy is entitled to his opinion just like anybody else. Former players like Jason Peter have been vocal about things quite a lot over the years. The lesson here is that you're never going to make everybody happy.

Hopefully Tommie will come along for the ride. Bus is getting full.

I've run into Tommy several times the last year at events. He is an opinionated person but......not a bad guy. I did hear clips of the broadcast and he wasn't really down regarding Scott Frost. It was more reserved. I don't think its all that unfair as I was the same way with MR. I happen to have the rose colored glasses this time that I didn't with MR but I also think the body of works that MR offered was reason to question the hire.

Also in relationship to Creighton gear. Tommy lives in Omaha. 99% of the Creighton basketball fans.....and there are a lot of them.....are Husker fans. Creighton puts out a great product that many Omaha people love. Being a Nebraska football player shouldn't mean you can't be a Creighton Basketball Supporter.

Once sat at a table and drank beers with Tommie Frazier at a university event. Greatest moment of my life.

Tommie is a missed field goal away from three straight national championships. His cocky attitude set the tone for Nebraska to finally stop getting punked by speedy Florida-based teams every bowl game. He had the heart of a champion, and his leadership finally put Nebraska over the hump, and paved the way for the entire 60-3 run from 1993-1997.

If you had to name the single greatest Husker in history, Tommie Frazier is it, and there isn't even a close second.

So, while he may be wrong in this instance, seeing fans bash him is interesting, considering he basically made Nebraska what it was in the 1990's.

No doubt. Just pop in the bowl tape anytime your memory needs jogging...any one of them. #15 was the GOAT.

As for the topic, there was a good article in the OWH today about doubts that Frost's offense can work in the B1G. Makovicka had a good quote in there. Nothing is guaranteed. Frazier just doing what he did as a player and telling it like it is, whether you like it or not.

It would be nice to see a list of former players that were at the announcement last week. I think there were a few high profile former players that live in the area that were missing. I get having reservations about the hire, but there is something to be said about getting behind the team and giving him a chance.

I think very highly of Tommie Frazier.. met him on two different occasions.. Never met SF, but Tommy & Scott are different guys with different skill sets. Scott had to follow Tommy, which he managed to do successfully, but the road wasn't so smooth. Both guys were successful, but got there differently. I don't have a problem with what Frazier says. He's earned it. Scott's earned it too.

Well, now anyway

Tommy does live in Omaha like myself when I occasionally go to CU games I have worn blue too sometimes I'll wear Nebraska gear at their games as well too...

Unless he is there Saturday with his Blue Creighton gear on I doubt he really has a dislike for Nebraska...

Just my 2 cents

Exactly. There are lots of former players that are quite nasty in real life :p I will yell and scream for them in the stands, but not necessarily want to have a convo with them out of the spotlight. I just learn to separate the two aspects.

I've met quite a few former players, I also worked for T.O. and his tutoring program in the late 80s to early 90s so got to know quite a few players.

Tommy now is no different than Tommy then, but he was the GOAT at the option and he knew how to win. That is the kind of attitude that we need and that gets you over the hump and through the wall.

He was the single most important recruit TO ever got. Period. Steve Taylor, Mickey Joseph, Mac Clayton, were all probably faster in straight line speed, but Frazier had "IT". He seemed to set the tone for the attitude and confidence that carried Nebraska to the 60-3 era.

Tommie ducked out on people waiting for autographs when I was a kid after the Oklahoma game in '94. I mean he took a different way out of the stadium than the rest of the team who were nice enough to give a 9 year old an autograph. Not bad mouthing Frazier as he was a beast and I certainly don't know him personally. Found the commercial he did with Crouch hilarious as well.

That and some downright great players on defense that were scary good and every bit as effective as Frazier was on offense.

was he though? He was the QB of the best team in Neb history, but when he went down, Brook came in and we hardly missed a beat, and then when he went down, Turman came in and did very well as well.

Turman did well enough that TO felt he needed to have Berringer come in and play in the 2nd half of the KSU game. I find it funny how people remember that game.

Berringer did great in place for Tommie, but ask yourself this. After Brook threw the INT in the end zone, was TO wrong to bring TF back in?

But again, what did TF have that he brought to the team like no player since him? Confidence, attitude, determination.

I can't prove it, but I highly doubt Nebraska has that 60-3 run had he gone to Clemson, like he nearly did.

What is the reason he doesn't like Frost. Did they have issues at some point or is it just a jealousy thing?

Mid-90s I worked at the Gateway Bowl bowling alley part time just so I could have free bowling whenever I wanted. That was the hangout for the Husker football and basketball players. It was normal to see those guys at the alley...lots of times they had to be corralled a bit because they would get pretty rowdy. Tommie Frazier came in only once when I was working and he was with his brother, his brother shielded him from autograph requests. I don't think Tommie had many friends, kind of a loner type. I recall at the time thinking he was a real jerk, but I just think he was introverted and not at all interested in the fame that came with being the QB at Nebraska.

I remember a story where TF said something to SF right away after he transferred back, and basically 'put him in his place' like TF did to everyone. Basically started there. Not sure why to this day he'd have issues with him? That's just the way TF is I guess. There's a reason he was never a "captain," but he was respected.

About the only thing I respect about Tommie Frazier was what he did as a player.

LOL.... Nebraska 1994 wouldn't have existed without the season before. I honestly think the Bowl loss to FSU was the single most important game for Nebraska since the BD teams. Up till that point Nebraska just wanted to compete and hope to win. Frazier, even in loss, showed everyone in the country he was truly special and elite. Nebraska should have won and it set the stage from then on. The team KNEW they were for real after that game and had the leader to take them there.
