Tommi Hill

What is our fascination with trying to hit him on long pass plays? Are you telling me one of the freshman WRs cannot do a better job than him? Also, on defense he is usually suspect.

The guys proven that he has the speed and ability to beat the defense deep. Something we desperately need on the team. Unfortunately we haven't been able to get the ball to him. He tracked the deep ball on Saturday well. It was just poor accuracy.

He's a regular Travis Hunter.

No it isn't. That kind of money comes with big standards and bigger expectations. College sports is a big business now, and if the N is going to be paying big, then it should expect big things. The employees and the fans of this machine need to start having some pride and standards around here.
We use to be an 8 cylinder with a dual hemi. For two decades, we've been a 2 cycle engine that burns a lot of oil.

 nevermind that 2 cycles produce more power per pound than most any other motor.

waiting to hear you tell us how you're an engine expert next.

He's played WR for parts of two years now. Exactly who has he beaten deep?

Do you not consider the play at 9:55 beating someone deep? There was also a play in the Minnesota game that was very under thrown.

(2) plays that I can think of in 3 games this year. For an offense he hasn't played a lot on.

Did anybody think he was going to bring anything to the table this year ? He has speed but that's all I've seen. I noticed he plowed into a reciever when it looked like he had plenty of time to turn his head around.
He has a tendency to either make no play or just a bad play. I'm looking forward to him to actually doing something one of these days. Till then, he has to prove he's capable of being an asset considering he keeps losing his DB spot, and his KO return duty from last year.

😂😂😂😂😂😂 love these recliner coaches. The staff is 3 games into a total rebuild of a program left in ruin and you expected 1995 Nebraska right out of the gate. They can’t even get creative and find ways to spark this team and make things happen without the “experts” telling them what they’re doing wrong.
I was right about Frost after the first game, same with Riley. Think I know what I'm talking about. I think Rhule has a high ceiling and I hope he's here a long time. That said, I've seen some concerning things too. Hope it gets fixed.

I remember clamor to fire Tom Osborne every time he lost to Oklahoma, was upset by Mizzou, Syracuse, Iowa St or was beat down in the Orange Bowl by Florida teams, Georgia Tech, Clemson and even Oklahoma. Then "the most knowledgeable" fans in America screamed bloody murder that Frank Solich should never have been fired for any reason. Now "they have progressed" into needing to fire Matt Rhule three games in because of press conference quotes and unsatisfactory player substitution. There is no place like Nebraska.
Who is saying Matt Rhule needs to be fired? Name names or STFU...

That was a good play if you ask me and timed well. Shouldn't have been a penalty.

I think I'll start the guy who has 1 turnover in 1+ games and not start the QB with 7 turnovers in 2 games.

Jeff Sims is who Jeff Sims has always been. We don't even know who HH is yet, its time to find out.

At this point, leave the creativity to Tony White.
😂 I didn’t offer anything on who I think should play what. I’m not going to talk down on the coaching staff. A couple months ago it was all good things about Rhule and staff and 3 games in everyone knows more than they do. I know who I would like to see play QB going forward and I agree with most people it should be Haarberg. But I’m not the coach, I’m not at practice and not in team meetings. I don’t know anything going on but what we are all told and what we watch. There is a lot more to it than game day.

It's small mindedness that comes with hating who was hired before the guy even makes it to campus.

Playing Simms at QB

OK. But honestly, who was he going to play?

Sims came in with a ton of experience. The number two guy was 5th on the depth chart last year, got no reps in practice, and was asked by Whipple to move to TE. I'm glad HH is developing now, but It's not hard to believe Sims outplayed him for most of camp.

You could make the case he should have gone with Casey or got a different portal QB. But Casey was coming off of major shoulder surgery, so just rolling with him wasn't really an option. A different, better potral QB could have been the answer, but there weren't a ton of great options.

Seems like the style of play that is the Rhule way is gonna require a big, physical guy calling the plays. We've seen both Sims and HH pull it down and run, and also have to scramble.

Its gonna take a Tagge, Frost, Sims or HH type of QB to take the hits they're gonna take.

I think there are those big, physical type QBs, the problem is they are likely gonna be A- runners, and C+ passers. Until the rare exception surfaces at NU, that's where NU is at.

So, no disrespect to Kaelin, but he doesn't look like the physical type. And until NU severly upgrades the quality of the OL with some quality depth, smaller guys like Casey, Smothers are gonna get pounded.

Oh yeah I’m sure you know it all. Just like so many other fans. Coaches should call you before games to come up with the game plan.

There were a ton of options in the portal at the qb position. I shared a list of over 50 of them that could perform better than what we've seen from Sims so far.

I don't know, I just looked, and last year was a pretty weak group. In hindsight, I would have liked someone else, but at the time I didn't see any obvious better choices that were realistic.

IMO what we’re seeing is an extended tryout period for most of the team who get game reps. Sometimes it doesn’t look good but I think they’re trying to find spots for guys with very good physical talent. It isn’t always going to be pretty with some of the track athletes Rhule is bringing in either. From my vantage point that PI on Hill was a case of multiple DBs getting caught looking in the backfield allowing a guy to get behind them.

I have to agree here, especially on the offense. We select the wrong players to run certain routes. On 2nd and 1, we attempt a qb sneak instead of trying to take a shot down the field. HH played great considering how much was stacked against him.
I'm sure you know exactly which players, should be running which routes. Because...you know....you're at practice and do this full time lol

Yes you don't put your smallest guy on a delayed corner route as the primary receiver. You don't put Hill as a deep threat when he's very obviously not a deep threat.

The dude never makes a play.
