Time to fire Eichorst

Who the heck is Steve Peterson?! Maybe he's a distant cousin to Matt Davidson, Peters brothers, Grant Winstrom, @rrthusker who'd I leave out?

Or, you're talking about the Steve Pederson, heavily endorsed by Tom Osborne (or is it Ozbourne?)? Let us know...

Results aren't as expected so far for many fans, but, it is early and we can't argue the last coach left us a ton of talent at certain positions. I agree, I expected us to be better than we have played, but it is a process. Patience is key, and hopefully it pays off...

I certainly wasn't happy with the pass happy play calling with those winds yesterday. Very poor play calling on offense.

Your shtick is getting old timmy, as soon as someone rightly attacks your buddies in the leadership positions in Lincoln, you revert to dramatizing the misspellings. Is your defense of these bozos because you want to get hired as the wiener cannon guy someday?

Okay, so how long do we need to be patient and how long is this rebuilding going to take? 1 year? 5 years? 10 years? Normally i might agree with you're statement but MR is 62 and isn't getting any younger. His hire was made with very little to no long term vision in mind.

No buddies in leadership. Eichorst canned your boy Peelini, that's a you problem, not a me one. Wiener cannon guy? It'd be awesome to pull the trigger where your mouth is firmly planted at the end.

Would Alberts make a good AD? I'm just asking the question on this one. Deep Husker roots, has done a great job at UNO...

Be pissed off if you want because that was bad, but as Nebraska fans we need to get over the thinking that everyone needs to be from Nebraska and if they aren't we won't do sh%$. If Trev was this rockstar AD we would have hired him. Also, what has Frost done? He may develop into an absolute stud as a coach, buts lets let him go cut his teeth before we think he is the savior of Nebraska. We went with a "Nebraska" man with Solich and the end result essentially was the same as the next head coaches.

We need a long-term plan. SE made a short-term hire and so far, the results are poor. Short-term solutions should not have a long leash.

Honestly not a bad suggestion...on a more farfetched idea...would Alverez come back home to Nebraska where they dont have the strict limitation Wisconsin does (reasons coaches keep leaving there)

The WORST thing in the world we can do right now is panic. Firing the AD so we can fire a coach who has been here for five games is just utter nonsense. I posted in a different thread how disgusted I was with the illinois loss. It was the worst coaching job during a game I have seen at NU in a long, long time. Maybe ever. And it has filled me with a demoralized sense of resignation that it is going to be a long time before we are good again. It has also caused me to lose faith in these coaches. So I agree with the frustration 100% expressed by the OP.

But remember this: there have been several coaches whose programs are now among the elite who had piss poor starts at their new school. How many ups and downs did Dantonio have at MSU?? Look where they are now. And Saban's first year at Alabama was a real clunker. Pat Fitzgerald was on the hot seat the past few years for his team's lousy record and yet here they are undefeated. The verdict is still out on our new staff. But like it or not, the ONLY option right now is to stay the course, continue to show up at games to support the team, and then let the chips fall where they will.

Thus, the remarks above by HTO, though given in his usual style, are expressive of a legitimate frustration with any fan who would be arguing that we need to shit can everyone immediately. For starters ... that just is not going to happen. But secondly, if it did, it would be the stupidest thing we could do.

The "Pass Happy" part I'm fine with. TA is looking better and we're going to start getting QBs in here that are great passers. Up until Illinois, the D was the biggest problem. I'm not going to get all over the O for one bad game.

Ha. If he wasn't an a-hole, I'd love to have Mike Leach in here. I'd love to see some air raid in Lincoln.
