The basketball program never fails to surprise the hell out of me.
Much needed with all the AttritionThe basketball program never fails to surprise the hell out of me.
He was an 89% lean to Kansas according to 247. Wow.Wow. The kid had offers from Kansas, Ohio State, Xavier, NC State, Tennessee, Cincinnati, aTm, etc and chose the fighting Tim Miles's.?. In all seriousness you have to love the two commits in this class, imagine the talent we could pull if we put a decent product on the court.
Dibs on "we didn't want him anyway" when he transfers.
J/K, credit where credit is due. Stunning pickup by Miles & Co.
I thought Kenya Hunter was the key here.No way this kid sniffs Nebraska without Molinari, just in case anyone was wondering how the hell he is still around

Odds are he is still here in 12 months?
Let's be honest, like every other big recruit Miles has landed, he chose us because of Kenya Hunter.
I just hope Miles lets Allen and Akenten play through their freshman mistakes next year, as these 2 guys are as good of shooters as this program has recruited in a very long time. If Evan Taylor is still playing 30 minutes a game, I'll be disappointed.
I would be embarrased if a kid picked us over mighty Kansas too....Conditional offer to KU depending on what 2 or 3 players ahead of him did including Trevon Duval. Have to wonder if Self told him to move on since reports are Cal PG Charlie Moore is transferring to KU. KU needs to pick up a big with one of their two remaining scholies. Erric Bossi has said there is also some qualifying concerns with Allen. Nice pickup for you guys however.

With Poor Bear being released from his LOI with New Mexico, would be be back on the market and worth taking a run at by Nebraska?
I've been waiting to hear on that situation. I never got to see him play, but Nebraska needs size badly right now. I'd have more patience with Miles taking a local high school kid than rolling the dice on less than stellar looking senior transfers.

He's got good size but is a huge project. Not a guy that will contribute as a freshman in the Big Ten. But long-term could be a decent player after a few years in the weight room. If we have scholarships to use anyway, might as well give him a shot.
Do you believe that offering guys that may only contribute little leads to those players transferring?
I don't mind if non-contributers transfer. That happens everywhere. Guys like Morrow, Jacobson, and White transferring has been our issue.
I'd rather take a chance on a local kid with good size than have a scholarship go unused. Mike Daum was considered a huge project coming out of high school. He hit the weights and transformed his body and the rest is history.
See Missouri they were 8-24 and got the #1 player in the country... of course with a little help that his dad is now a coach at Missouri... but still (8-24)Pleasantly shocked by this one. He does know we only won 12 games last year, right?

The culture is the culture. Kentucky gets more one and dones than most schools. Gonzaga has a huge foreign player draw. Duke signs every high level Caucasian player in America. (Kidding, sort of).
Nebraska recruits players who transfer.
