This is how you do it (Michigan Signing Day Event)

With over 35K views on youtube and a top 10 class in tow, my guess is, Hargod isn't real concerned with what upsets your tummy.

Years ago when I started my business, I had no clients. I literally dug through a garbage can of one of my competitors in an attempt to figure out who they were doing work for so I could solicit them. 16 years ago. My best client to this day who has made all my mortgage payments came from that garbage can. Now go walk onto almost any college campus and into some classroom where "business" is being taught, my guess is, nobody is employing that method and several students would say the same thing about how I started, you're saying about how Hargod started his career at Michigan. I didn't give a rats ass about any else's opinion either. Don't be afraid to be different.

Well, I'll let me be the one to disagree with you. The ends definitely don't justify the means. I have no opinion on your dumpster diving. However, if you're a win at all costs head coach (that means you cheat) and you get caught I have no sympathy for your reputation. It doesn't mean you are a better coach. It's just means your a slime. Character > riches, fame and glory. No, I don't want Petrino to ever coach at NU. Nor Calipari. I'm not so insecure that I need to throw out my values just so I can raise my index finger on NSD. Eff that.

Thinking that 35k views on YouTube means anything is akin to worrying how many "Likes" you have on Facebook. IJDGAF. Sleeping over at a kid's home is very creepy... unless you're another kid. Grown man? Yeah, you need a yard sign.

Well I have never heard of anyone accusing Hargod of cheating, ever. So apparently there are honest ways to go about "win at all costs" that don't involve cheating. Sleeping over at a recruits house isn't my cup 'o tea, but it's legal and helped land a monster class so I have no issues with it personally.

It might be me, but I found the whole thing to be a little awkward. Would have been better without a live audience, putting awkward teenagers on the spot and without bringing people in with no connection to your program that are practically forced to kiss your program's butt. The event was waaay too long with very little content. It was a good first step, but definitely needs a lot of refinement. Nebraska could easily produce a live show like this with how big red wrap up is set up. Keep it to husker alumni, with the common hosts and an hour max, stream it on huskers.com or broadcast on NET. That would be nice!

Their entrance fee went to fight pediatric brain cancer.

Hey "newbie"...I'm a Michigan fan/grad

Anyhoo...I made the point Nordin is a kicker because a big theme around here is that Nebraska is at a huge disadvantage because of location. I will not dispute that it is an obstacle but the notion that a school like Michigan is sitting in some recruiting nirvana is not accurate either. We are in an OK recruiting state but we not only share it with MSU but ND is actually closer in proximity to recruits on the western side. And while Ohio has more talent we are second fiddle at best there.

So like NU we have to rely on kids from where ever we can find them to build a championship level team. In fact, only 2 of our 27 position players came from our "backyard" this year (we actually got more 4*s from Cali this year, which is closer to Lincoln, than we did from MI and OH combined). That means less than 10% of our position players came from our backyard...and relates back to a NU topic...yes...NUs location is certainly not ideal but it doesn't mean it can't land a top 10 class.
As am I and I understood your point entirely.

In the world of recruiting the state of Michigan isn't so hot as you mentioned.

I was addressing the comment that Michigan only took 3 players in the state.

Specifically the implication that one of them was only 'a kicker'...he is 'the kicker'.

Go Blue!

It is said that these young men being recruited are being seduced by sexy new alternate uniforms and helmets...style.

Its hard to imagine that getting introduced on a glitzy stage to the cheers of a couple thousand students and getting thigh squeezed by Tom Brady and Derek Jeter wouldn't have some beneficial effect.

Harbaugh, bad interview and all has created tremendous buzz about the Michigan program and more importantly turned in a solid season and a dominant bowl victory.

Great class for Michigan by what looks like a tremendous hire.

Go Blue!

He certainly has Urban's attention.

I never said he gave a crap about my opinion on the spectacle. I merely said that was the direction I wanted my team to go.

In addition, the celebrities that were "practically forced to kiss our program's butt" weren't paid a cent and donated their time for charity.
