Just wait for the transfers to come in next year, give the guy time to develop his players, he's an Osborne hire..... etc etc etc.

Extenuating circumstances. He needs at least 3 years to see what next years Freshmen can do.Nope. He still has to win this year.
Maybe we can fill those open scholarships with some 16 year-olds who are graduating high school early. Then we'll we'll totally have the youngest roster in the BIG and if Miles manages to win 5 games he definitely deserves that elusive extension. This is good news. Now the freshman can get extensive playing time and experience instead of sitting on the bench. That will pay off for us down the road.
This bears such a hilarious resemblance to the Andrew White situation. First we have plenty of shooters who can replace him and who, unlike White, have definitely bought into the program. Until the team goes 12-19 and ends the season with a whimper - then White's sudden departure is absolutely one of the reasons it was such a crappy season.Yes, true true. Also, consider everyone that is leaving was a cancer and we will be better off without them.
We were not as good at the end of the year when Ed was on the floor. Period. He was a liability on both ends of the floor. He couldn't guard other bigs and he couldn't score on them. He did manage to get to the line some but couldn't make his free throws when it mattered. He's undersized and unlike most undersized 5s he can't shoot or dribble. He's a good effort rebounder and energy guy but we would never be able to compete at the level people want with him playing as many minutes as he has. I don't care who the coach is. I wish he would have stayed to give us minutes off the bench but Jordy should be getting all we can give him. I do think we struggled when he got injured just trying to figure out how to play without him but he wasn't going to get us to the dance. He got used in the paint. In reality do you guys really think Morrow's presence gets Nebraska to the Big Dance? I don't.

I don't disagree with that, but the team isn't better off without him - unless you believe the undiluted nonsense now being spewed by the president of the Dakota Timmy Fan Club.In reality do you guys really think Morrow's presence gets Nebraska to the Big Dance? I don't.

I think it is Miles' presence keeps us out of the dance. I don't think we make it with or without Morrow next year.

No I wasn't saying we are better without him. I just am surprised at some posts on both boards which seem to make him a far far better player than what he is or was here at Nebraska. RSS is having a mini meltdown over this. Smh
We are sort of discussing different layers to the same onion.
I don't believe Morrow was an elite player. I have said all year that he was limited offensively. That doesn't mean he wasn't vital to the relative success of the team.
Morrow may or may not be the best player on the Nebraska basketball team. He is not a great player or isnt capable of starting at Michigan St or Kansas. However, with him on the floor Nebraska beat teams that he wouldn't start for. When he went down, they lost to teams, that if he were on, he would be a starter and maybe the best player.
Morrow is an undersized post player with a very limited offensive game - there is little doubt about that. And yet, he managed to put up 9 points and 8 boards per game while being the only player on the roster who even sniffed 50% from the field. Despite Morrow's clear limitations, the only guy whose departure would have a more severe and immediate impact on the team's success is Watson, and that's largely because Watson is the only player on the roster who can knock down a 3 with some degree of regularity or dribble the ball against his own shadow. No I wasn't saying we are better without him.
