Smothers actually had a nice deep pass in to the wind that maybe should have been caught. Is it just me or does his throwing motion look WAY better this spring. Was he playing with a bum shoulder against Iowa?

QB's look bad. Smother's looks the best i think and he's been inconsistent on throws. If QB doesn't improve, the rest of this wont matter. Everything offense doesn't look good.
Damn. Purdy looks really good. Putting the ball on the money and quick feet. I like.

Transfer who will be our starting place kicker isn't in town yet.
One is 6 and the other 8, maybe on a few plays I thought it was Smothers when it really was Prudy.
Anyhow, I hold with my comment...all are struggling.
What game are you watching? Smothers has looked a lot worse than Purdy.
I think it was more than that but I think the real battle is for who will be the backup. The GOOD NEWS is that I think both Purdy and Smothers look like guys who could win games for us IF need be. I'm impressed by Purdy and Smothers looks like a more natural passer now than he did last fall.
I haven't seen anything to fault Purdy on at all. I think he's looked very good. Smothers has missed a couple of guys but it's hard to know if that was his fault or if the WR ran the wrong route.
Would have been nice to see more of Thompson. Maybe we could find out what we have if you put your best distributor of the ball on the field.
