To me it looked like it was a pick and the QB threw to the wrong guy. But then after hearing Fitz complain about it in the post-game, I changed my mind. Surely he wouldn’t run a lick okay and then complain that he didn’t get DPI, right?Maybe I’m way off but it looked to me the receiver that was interfered with was running a pick play on honus
They missed a false start in the first half.calls late in the game that may have influenced the outcome are always amplified
those calls late in the game on us - horse caller, PI with a ? catchable ball, roughing the passer are diluted because they missed the FG
the alleged PI that didn't get called lead to the interception and subsequent game winning FG - those decisions are going to get amplified
you can argue whether or not that PI should have been called but there is no doubt that if the roles would have been reversed we would be outraged that it wasn't called vs minimizing the no call
Pretty sure the PI in question is the jersey grab on the INT, not the one on the uncatchable pass with the Roughing call.
So are you really sorry...because now it seems like you are trying to back out of your apology by adding more information about your original wrong statement.
The initial call was unnecessary roughness, on who no idea. I ran back the field goal try and rewatched it. There was nothing remotely resembled that, nobody touched either the kicker or holder
Well, I do. That is why I asked.Jeez - who cares?
Actually there is doubt that's pass interference. I'm honestly shocked there wasn't a flag thrown, because the refs tend to just do that, but there is plenty of reason not to throw a flag. There's no doubt that's pass interference. But, they missed it (and missed a bunch of other stuff as well that went against Nebraska).
Time to move on.
Not really shocked this post came from you, the person who will twist anything and everything to being the most negative possible connotation, but give me a break with this BS. First of all, it wasn't a horrible missed call; it was borderline at best, and I gave reasons above exactly why they wouldn't have called that. We won that game fair and square, and yes that win was earned. If NW had made that field goal to go up 13-10, and either Nebraska didn't score, or NW had won in overtime; you could make a much more truthful statement they didn't "earn" the win, because that field goal was made with the help of 30 yards in BS penalties. And I'm sure you would be one of the first ones to argue against anyone who said as much, because you must look at everything in as negative a light as possible for Nebraska. It was a horrible missed call...but this is why statisticians say that one score games are toss-ups. Missed calls fall into the random luck category. We didn't "win" that game yesterday...the coin flipped in our favor. It was a completely even game, that missed calle took them from field goal range and gave us an opportunity for a game winning field goal. Glad we won because we might make a bowl based on that win but we didn't "earn" the win. Much like we didn't "earn" the loss to colorado. Just mediocre teams crapping it up.
