I haven't watched tape of Banker's OSU defenses, but based on a lot of the commentary coming out of Spring ball, it seems that his scheme will focus on being more aggressive, pursue the ball relentlessly and push the ball to the sideline. It's implied there are fewer "reads" than in the Pelini defense, which should mean people are faster in pursuit and can blow up more plays.

The flip side of this would seem to be that players might be caught out of gaps or out of position more often, particulary reacting to play action or shifts and motion. Does this result in more big plays for the offense? I'm sure there's still a ton of technique and reads in the Banker defense, but hope it's more instinctive and allows players to play.

On the whole, I'm glad this defense seems to cut guys lose more often. The Pelini scheme just seemed to leave too many guys reading and reacting and certainly against heavy running teams we got absolutely bludgeoned.

Wondering what others feel we can expect come Fall?
