Ok I know it's slim to none but the way this college football season is going who knows what is going to happen. However I do see a small small chance Nebraska can make the playoffs. I believe we want Michigan to win out. Obviously Wisconsin has to slip up. Then we beat Michigan in championship game. I'm not sure if there is a way we could get a rematch with Ohio state? But beating a Michigan team that beat Ohio State would look just a good. Yes I know I am dreaming. But it is possible. However then do you take a 2 lose Ohio State team or us? They are big on conference champions.
 
Also watch for a trap game for Penn State. Michigan States season will be riding on that last game vs Penn State
 
As most of you recall, the most extreme example of this "so you are saying there is a chance" happened in 2001. After getting thrashed by CU and not playing for the conference championship, we were still picked as one of the two to play for the NC. Of course, all kinds of upsets happened in order to get us to the game. The difference between that year and this one though is that we probably weren't as lightly regarded then in spite of the CU game. Who knew that presumably fluke blow out loss was the start of a 15 year trend.

I am saying for us to get in we would have to win conference championship. So we need Wisconsin to lose which is possible

Even if Wisconsin looses a game that puts them in a tie with us and they have the head-to head. They would have to lose twice.
 
Zip, zero, ziltch, nada, none. with only 2 wins against above .500 teams it ain't going to happen. If we win out it has been a very successful year. GBR

Let the cards fall where they may. You end the season beating Minnesota, Iowa (who beat Michigan which the committee willl look at, and a conference championship. It's possible. I believe whoever wins the B1G conference no matter who it is, is a lock.

if it was being played in minny, i would give gophs a shot. just don't see wiscy losing that game at home. probably close, but, not losing it.

I agree. But Wisconsin's Quarterback won't take over the game like Tommy did for us against Minny. One big play could give Minny the win.

This is interesting. I would be very happy with this as well. You figure either Ohio State or Michigan are locks for the CFP, the other in a Big 6, Wisconsin in a Big 6 if they win the next two (or possibly the playoff if they win out including the CCG). Then if Penn State wins the next two, they are teetering on a Big 6 game. I would say that due to how NU lost to OSU, we would be behind PSU in the pecking order unless PSU completely lays a turd.

So many possibilities with how other teams perform, my head is spinning thinking of scenarios. Let's just beat Maryland and Iowa and see where we're at.

Top 11 are guaranteed a spot.

OU has to play WVU and OK St
Florida St and Florida play each other.
We want Wisky and Ohio St to keep winning.
Need Penn St to lose to Michigan St
LSU is getting credit for a close loss but we arent...BS.

We needed to blow out Maryland and beat Iowa...With Tommy hurt....That's going to be difficult.

NU is not going to the CFP, but I am rooting for chaos. I would love for Wisconsin to get knocked off and us go to the title game and have a chance for a conference championship. That would be awesome. I would love to see a monster shakeup the past few weeks, just to see everyone lose their minds.

I hate to say it, but I just suddenly remembered I had a dream last night - and Nebraska lost 24-3. Please no.
 
I do believe (correct me if I'm wrong) the committee does factor significant injuries in losses. We still lose to OSU if TA played the entire game, but maybe the committee would understand it would not have been that lopsided had he not been knocked out the game.

Or the fact our Defense got worked, and couldn't stop the backup for OSU. There is no credit for that game. That was a good old fashioned woodshed.

Our defense was spent because we couldn't do anyyythhing on offense. Tommy would of put drives together to let our defense rest and also would of allowed coaches to make adjustments on defense
 
I would be happy to beat Maryland and Iowa. Bowl game and whatever happens after that is gravy. You are only calculating the B1G what ifs, how do you look at all of the rest?

I'd love to win out, watch Wisconsin lose to Minnesota and play either Penn St or Michigan in Conf title game. With a healthy O-line and Tommy we could definitely win. Want no part of Ohio St again. Terrible match up for us. Unfortunately it'll be Penn St vs Wisconsin.
 
I suppose their might be scenarios that could put us in the playoffs. We don't know the impact of losses though, as evaluated by the playoff committee (i.e. how far another team will drop).
 
There is no possible way to make final 4. That loss in Columbus was a brutal beating! Had we made that game a nail biter we'd be thought of as another Wisconsin and might have had a slight chance?

I am pretty sure every Iowa fan and most of their players was saying the same thing last week.
 
I'd love to see the Huskers make the B1G championship game but even in a perfect scenario they won't make the CFP and frankly I wouldn't want them to. They don't belong on the field with Bama who they would see in this hypothetical situation.

You think Michigan state will beat Penn state? It could happen, but most likely scenario is penn state versus Wisconsin...

Dobut it. We didn't come to play, and Tommy wasn't helping the situation. With Tommy, they still score at least 50 IMO.
