So we lost the Barta recruit to KSU...

This had to be mutual. If it wasn't, then the kid made a horrible choice. I get that it is close to home but so is Lincoln. Rhule has this program on the rise. And the upside for Nebraska football is light years beyond what it is for KSU. They will never be more than what they are now. Not even the great Bill Snyder could win more than one or two conference titles with them. They will be forever a 7-5 or 8-4 kind of team, and will always be playing second fiddle to the big boys in whatever league they are in.

So I wish Barta well. But he just landed at an inferior program.

maybe first fiddle.

They have averaged 7.5 wins per season the past decade and last year was the first time they have won 9+ since 2016. So, yes they have been better than us recently (who hasn't), but they are not "a 9-win program or better".
will win 9 or more again this year and perhaps a second b12 championship depending on beating texas in austin.

4. Oklahoma 24.7
7. Texas 22.5
14. K-State 17.4

And if they win 9 this year, they will still have only averaged 7.6 since 2009, with five 9 win seasons.

Last year was the first year since 2016 they won 9 +......the last year we went to a bowl game. I think they have been better for a decade or more but I don't care to look it up.

who is better is a matter of conjecture. unless we play one another why get in a pissing contest about it? we all know the answer.

a kansas kid chooses to go to k-state. that seems logical to me. there are 50+ others on the roster, plus several from iowa, nebraska and texas. corcoran chose to got to N. somehow we survive.

Like I said in the post you quoted:

I wasn't all that excited when he was first offered and accepted. As the season has progressed at Seaman in Topeka, he has been all over the field both on O and D. Read some stats, over 1,000 yards receiving and 3 INTs and a real ball hawk on D. I would venture to say that had he been a Nebraska HS kid, people would be lamenting about a local gone astray.

I am not sure that says much. People on this board lament about losing all kinds of locals that never go on to accomplish anything.

We just got that local and then some. His name is Caleb Benning. Some are projecting him at safety. Plus the other local kid from O. North is projected at safety.

Wouldn't shock me if the Barta kid decided playing time might be easier at Kstate because I doubt anyone would decommit after watching White's defense this year.

I agree with you about Benning. I think the kid has the potential to be special. Needs to put some meat on and maintain his speed. He could be that safety that also returns kicks.
