Were they happy with the change, or did they think FHCMR needed a couple more years? No joke question, I talked to a guy at the Northwestern game who thought so, and this was after the interception Lee threw in the redzone.
But it always signified 40 minutes left to go before we got home, and got to get out of the car! Go York!

We went to Miami/Orlando a few years ago for a family vacation around Feb. We flew into Miami, check into our hotel and then head to the beach. Of course no one was in the water except us and one other family down this long beach. Turns out they were from the same town in Nebraska as us and one of their kids and ours were in the same elementary class.
Last time I was at Disney, I was wearing a Nebraska shirt and a couple stopped us. They asked, "Nebraska?!? Wow! I've heard of that, but where is It? Canada? You must be warm here!". Happened twice. True story and I was speechless.

My wife is originally from Connecticut.
When we were dating, went out to see her family. Met a couple of her older cousins at a get together. Told them I was living in Iowa at the time. They found that to be hilarious for some reason and started cracking jokes; told me that if I didn't treat my wife well, that they "would stop eating potatoes" in order to hurt the economy.
Never got along with those guys for some reason.

True story. Was celebrating our anniversary last year in San Torini; southeast 100 miles from Athens, Greece. I was wearing my Nebraska hat and walking in front of the shops. One dude from a passenger ship says: "Go Big Red!" I asked where he was from. He said: Red Cloud. I told him I was from McCook. Nebraskans are everywhere...especially down here in DFW!!!

I was in the Monaco and a guy lost his hat at this fort thing by the presidential palace... I was able to retrieve it from a hard to reach area with a selfie stick and give it back to him. The hat was for some dairy farm company near Columbus (where I was born).
As my college friends told me at Claremont...we're all a bunch of hicks.

On an Alaskan cruise with my wife several years ago and we are at a stop (forget Ketchikan or Skagway) we are wearing Husker jackets...walk by a shop and see a couple of other Husker jackets...LOL, was one of my wife's retired teachers from Middle School and his wife.
True story. I had just moved to SoCal in 82 and was in a bar in Hollywood. I told a "Valley Girl"-type I was trying to schmooze I was from Nebraska. She said, "Is that, like, in the state of Chicago?"

hahaha it was definitely MY selfie stick. I'm not proud... but I'm not embarrassed. It's much easier to have on vacation than asking someone to take your picture when you don't speak the language and don't want your phone stolen by Gypsies (full disclosure... i'm part gypsy). If I didn't have my selfie stick... I wouldn't have met the dude from nebraska who couldn't reach his hat.
