So, according to Josh Peterson on 1620

what do they have to offer the players still here except nothing?

so much to their own detriment, this business going on...people need to wisen up.

Pelini-YSU - 20% chance
Paps- UNC - 5%
Warren- UNC 5%
Cotton- UNLV 0% still has a kid on the team
Garrison- UNLV - 0% dont see it
Beck- OSU - 0% has bigger fish to fry

IIRC those not employed (by a university as a coach).

Kaz - 60% bitter and has anger issues
Fisher - 10% seems like he was a good guy but maybe he is bitter or having trouble finding work
Brown - 0% cares too much about NU

Oops forgot Els.

If it's Paps and I'm a UNC fan I'm wondering why he has the time to do this when he should be preparing for ACC play.

Name the coach who is doing it, pos IMO. Lewis should be shown the door with his crap.

I missed what you had said regarding Bo. Can you restate it?

He didn't go into a lot of detail in the thread that I saw it addressed on... someone asked basically the same question that was asked in this post about Pelini not getting paid....HuskerTimOmaha said that it wouldn't change anything and that he would get paid as scheduled...

Sounds like it but somebody know for sure, name him and call him out for real. Otherwise it is rumor.
Read above, sounds like Pap. The guy that was never qualified for any of the jobs he held here.

I trust Tim's info, but I am sure that no contract would give an outgoing coach carte blanche to say and do anything that may damage the university. There have to be some restrictions. Bo is psycho, but I doubt he would risk his future and what is left of his reputation, which is next to nothing.

That was my point earlier in the thread. Most severance agreements have clauses pertaining to making critical comments about your previous employer.

If that audio from Northstar didn't lose him his buyout, I'm not sure there is much he can do to lose it.

His source who he trusts, says that there is in fact a coach from the former staff who is contacting the players and "stirring the pot". Foreman said as much in a tweet earlier and insinuated so in an interview on Sharp and Benning this morning. Doesn't shock me if true. Just proves how unprofessional the prior staff was.
That is totally believable and consistent with that "us against the world" mentality. Very unprofessional. Why sabotage those kids' chances for success? Obviously, they don't care much about their former players to do such a thing.

Agreed, but that usually means public statements. Good luck on proving it if the comments were in a private conversation. Unless someone has a secret recording. After Bo got burned with that before, I don't see that happening.

You are probably right. Winking

This entire conversation is embarrassing and just gossipy nonsense. I'm sure there is some chirping from former coaches, but that's not why we are losing. Moving on to Saturday. GBR.

You're right, it probably is nonsense. Why, I bet what ever pap is saying is only helping the situation, not making it worse. So embarrassing that we are automatically assuming papuchis is hurting rather than helping the situation...

Whiny excuses. Coach better, play better.

It only takes a few seconds to send a text message.

UOTE="newAD, post: 906047, member: 10102"]I'd think an employed coach wouldn't have time? Who's employed?

Pelini-YSU
Paps- UNC

Kaz

I'd hope not Brown. Fisher has been cool on twitter as far as I know. Kaz?????[/QUOTE]

You see, the difference between you and me is that I can agree with you, to a point. There have been some real head scratching moments this season where if the coaches would have done things differently we would be in a different place as well. I can admit that.

But if former coaches are stirring the turds, this does not help. Even if coaches are making the right calls, said players may not be fully invested any longer. Are you saying this is not a possibility and that it doesn't hurt the team at all? Think about it before you post... I don't want you to post right away and look even dumber...

This entire conversation is fodder for message boards, talk radio and social media, and its pretty F'n weak. The current issue involving the former staff is the talent on the field. Its lacking. If you cant look past the nonsense and work with what is tangible, thats on you and the other excuse makers of this world.

Ugly things happening in Lincoln these days. It's pretty much what I've heard also. If losses keep piling up, then it's going to be one of the most negatively interesting seasons in some time. The staff is going to have to understand what sort of culture they are dealing with here and in a hurry too.

Pap always was a problem child. The guy always reminded me of a douchebag, sleaz ball salesman. Between him, Bo, and Kaz, we had staff that was just waiting to implode. The inability to stay professional was astonishing with that staff.

Got it. So the players are looking past the nonsense too, is that it?

Lack of talent, poor coaching, injuries, etc. These are all the issues. There is no possible way former coaches contacting players has an affect on anything. Thanks for clearing that up.

As I stated in another thread, you need to understand the difference between an excuse and an explanation. There are a lot of reasons the team is experiencing what it is experiencing today. You can call some or all of them excuses if you want, but they all explain what is going on in Lincoln right now. It's not just one thing. And to proclaim that former coaches contacting current players is f'n weak as another explanation of what is wrong in Lincoln right now is F'n weak as far as I'm concerned.

Any time!! Cool

The old coaching staff continues to drag down the program. Good grief. Support your old players by encouraging them to move forward 100 % with their new staff.

Six thousandth piece of evidence that the old staff belongs at amateur hour (or prison in Kaz's case)

There's been a lot of coaching changes in my 20 years of watching football. I'd have to say that former staff meddling is unprecedented in my mind.

Maybe one of the old dudes can chime in, but this just doesn't seem like a normal occurrence.

Should Barney be banned from talking to his kid who is on the team?
Everyone would be fine with the prior staff talking to our current players as long as it's positive reinforcement. The problem though is what certain coaches from the previous regime are saying to our players.

Should Barney be banned from talking to his kid who is on the team?

Yes. I don't care what relationship it is.. Make sure this doesnt happen. There is no way they should have any sort of contact during the season. After he graduates they can reestablish their father son relationship, but until then there is a potential for poisoning the water.

given Cav's and Milt's friendship and knowing a little bit about Barney, I don't think Barney is anybody we need to worry about. Barney knows the score and I would bet you 100$ that he still loves NU. Barney doesn't impress me as a guy (unlike the Youngstown clowns) that would be bitter. His kid is being treated well and playing a bunch. He should be very happy with the new staff at NU.

You've gone over the edge now and lost your credibility. smh
