A lot of rumors that Westerkamp was injured at practice.
He seems very fragile, which is a bummer because of his talent and hard play. Some guys are just more prone to this crap. Glorious hands deserves an NFL shot but his body needs to cooperate

He is clearly underweight. The problem that a lot of receivers have is that they have to stay super thin to keep their speed. Kenny Bell was 180 pounds soaking wet his junior and senior season, sure he could take the top off the defense but one solid lick by a linebacker over the middle and he's out half a season. Westy is very much in the same boat. Westy is 6'0" 200 lbs program numbers. realistically he's probably around 5'10" 185-190 He needs to be 210-215 and be able to run sub 4.5, Unfortunately he's probably just not built to do that. Hope he recovers and can play, we are really going to need him.He seems very fragile, which is a bummer because of his talent and hard play. Some guys are just more prone to this crap. Yup. He's gonna be missed big time next year.Jordan Westerkamp is a warrior, I wish our program had more of and like him.
Am i wrong in saying he gets hurt a lot? Im not dissing him, some players are just more prone to injury and hes one of them. Its unfortunate.

I would say yes, you are wrong, if what was posted earlier is correct. Played in 48 games in 4 years... missed 2 or 3 this year due to microfractures in his back. This is the only time he missed extended playing time in his career.Am i wrong in saying he gets hurt a lot? Im not dissing him, some players are just more prone to injury and hes one of them. Get what you are saying but those are different kind of receivers from Westy imo.Cole Beasley is 5'8", 174 lbs.
Wes Welker was 5'9", 185
Julian Edelman is 5'10", 198
Emmanual Sanders is 5'10", 180
Tavon Austin is 5'9", 174

It's probably because Tommy is out. I don't know if this has been mentioned, but they're roommates.
I bet Westy doesn't want to play if Tommy can't. Because they are roommates (in case you didn't know).

How many receivers in the NFL really run a sub 4.5? I'm betting the percentage is very small. Very. I'm to lazy to look it up, but I am curious. Edit, I just looked at the 40 yard dash times for the 2015 and tons of WR's ran around the 4.45-4.55(ish) mark. I did not know!

Sorry for noting the obvious, that he gets hurt a lot.Fragile ? Kid played nearly 50 games here. If he's fragile what's MRI?
Sorry for noting the obvious, that he gets hurt a lot.
Why are you people taking such offense to this? I'm not saying it's his fault or that I don't believe he actually gets hurt. I clearly stated that some people are more prone to injuries than others, it's their bodies.
MRI is injury prone as well then? Or can I not say that either?
I guess we will agree to disagree. He gets hurt a lot in games, much more so than your average player.I would say yes, you are wrong, if what was posted earlier is correct. There were times he went off the field limping but always came back. Maybe that's what you are referencing... but I would not call him fragile in the least. He's been quite durable.
It's just funny, that's all, to claim a 48 game participant is fragile. Maybe you chose the wrong word and shouldn't have said fragile. He has gotten injured in games and returned in the very same games. Fragile is reserved for the likes of Charles Jackson, who never panned out because of injury after injury... Fragile might be Jamal Turner, who always seemed to injure himself as soon as he began to see playing time. Westy is not fragile, and that is what people are taking exception to.Sorry for noting the obvious, that he gets hurt a lot.

Understood, and disagree. But it doesn't matter what I think, maybe he'll go play 10 years in the NFL without issues. We're saying that you are wrong. He's not injury prone. Has he has some injuries? Yes. That doesn't make him injury prone.
No, your original post said he was fragile, not injury prone. Big difference.I guess we will agree to disagree. He gets hurt a lot in games, much more so than your average player.
The people taking offense in this thread must think I'm trying to say he's a wimp. That's not what I'm saying, and my original post was clear in that. These are things that you really have zero control over.
It was obvious what I meant. Quit trying to derive ill intent when there was none. Calm down. No, your original post said he was fragile, not injury prone. Big difference.

I know it was obvious. It was obvious you used the wrong word. Admit it. Injury prone is not fragility. It was obvious what I meant. Quit trying to derive ill intent when there was none. Calm down.
