Sims is N!

What does #32 in the transfer portal QB mean?? There cannot be 31 higher rated QB's can there?
247 & ON3 much much better transfer portal projections. Rated higher then Hornsby on both. #8 QB in portal on 247, whose been doing this longer than anyone as far as transfers goes. And ON3 will bump him up now that he’s N. They need customers and play the game to make Husker fans happy

Rivals has DJ Uiagalelei #1 whose not the best by a long shot.

Sims is legit. Good sign Rhule

if the rpo is pass/run, we needed that.
so at least we have 1 qb in spring getting practice reps.

thompson can't run and smothers can't pass. (and both are lame ducks in spring)
we need at least 1 qb that can do both ok...
the purdy guy reminds me of johnney stanton...you hear alot then nothing happens.

so now we need the arkansas guy if the raiola mirical don't happen.
The notion that Smothers can't pass is a joke.

Not knowing what type of coaching he has had at GT I am not going to judge. If Rhule and company coach this kid up it will be interesting to see the results. If the pass game is shorter passes and having the receivers run, his stats should improve.

Times I watched DJU this past season it was painful

Heard Joe Dailey was going to be receivers coach, was with Rhule in Carolina, anyone else heard such?

30 TD and 23 picks is a bit worrisome, but I’ll have to trust the staff on this one.
CT had 17 TDs and 10 picks in 2022. Multiply that by 2 (to equal Sims 2 years) - that would project to 34 TDs and 20 picks (comparable). CT also logged -21 rushing yards for the 2022 campaign. Sims had well over 1,000 rushing yards in 2 seasons with the Yellow Jackets.

This pick up seems to be going under the radar a bit. I predict it be much better than some believe.

Absolute stud. Gives CT a run for his money immediately...IF he decides to stay after surgery.

I like CT. But I think I like Sims upside much much more, and I imagine Rhule does as well.

Now get Hornsby, and lock up DylaN!

Very experienced, hopefully we can cut down the interceptions and keep the TD's!
I looked at Sims' year-by-year stats and his INT rate dropped 3 years in a row, of course, he threw less. As a result, his TD rate also dropped each year.

2020: He threw 257 passes, 13 INT, and 13 TDs. Avg 1 INT for every 19.8 passes.
2021: He threw 188 passes, 7 INT, and 12TDs. Avg 1 INT for every 26.9 passes.
2022: He threw 188 passes, 3 INT, and 5 TDs. Avg 1 INT every 62.6 passes.

Sims threw less each year, but the Ga Tech team threw more each year, 283/342/381. Sims was injured and at times Ga Tech was using 3 different QBs.

I don't see Sims as a guy who will march you down the field throwing the ball. Certainly doesn't throw it as well as CT.
It's obvious he's a running threat, but less than a Tommy Armstrong type.

No doubt, if Sims is healthy, I will take him all day long compared to any of the other backups. I'm glad NU signed him.

The notion that Smothers can't pass is a joke.
The arm strength to wind up and throw a widowmaker out of bounds when he had an easy first down run was quite impressive.

He may be a nice kid and I admire his loyalty to the Huskers but he should never be behind center for Nebraska ever again.

I'll take those Oregon stats for CT or Sims or CT/Sims and with that might be a few wins mixed in.

Good stats. Improvement doesn't happen in all cases, but in Nix's case, a change of scenery, and coaching staff/scheme was almost a perfect match.

helps that Sims, like Nix, will be seeing a significant step down in defensive athleticism in his new conference

B1G will be like playing in slow motion compared to the ACC

hopefully Rhule and Satterfield put whoever's behind center in spots to succeed & double hopefully we'll have some backs who can take some of the heat off

I see Sims as more a know commodity, and he has more experience which is probably why he was rated higher. I think Hornsby has a higher overall upside though.

Sims said Satterfield told him the offense would be pro style and balanced. That’s not too unlike what we heard about from guys like Watson or BC.

We do seem to be wracking up QBs who can run but it doesn’t sound an awful lot like we’ll be trying to rely on their legs if we don’t have to for production.

I think the threat of the qb run, rpo, and using as a 10 Carrie’s a game change up is maybe a decent starting point for a guess.
