That's what LJS said, but I can't figure if that's correct? If we lose we would be tied with Northwestern at 7-13. We own the head to head over them. Penn State and Washington would be behind us as well. Maybe I don't understand the tiebreakers. 🤷♂️🤷♂️
I would add that missing the B1G tournament would be a GIANT step backwards and a huge kick in the grapes.
I haven’t done the math either…but I read that USC losing last night ended any chance of the Huskers backing in.
And yes, missing the BIG tourney would be an enormous collapse. Any reasonable set of metrics for Nebraska basketball starts with “make the conference tournament”

It doesn’t make any sense. Why expand the league if you're leaving teams out of the tournament.
The ACC takes the top 15 like the Big. You honestly believe if you can’t win enough to be in the top15 of a conference you deserve your season to continue.?
If NU loses today, I think they will miss the conference tournament. They would be in a 5 way tie for 15h at 7-13 with:
Iowa
USC
Northwestern
Minnesota or Rutgers (whoever loses their game today).
NU would be just 1-4 in games against those teams (which defines their maddening season, currently just 2-6 against the bottom of the league with one game to play, including 3 of those losses at home). Every one of those other teams would have at least 2 wins against the others, putting NU at the bottom.

It's stupid that the conferences are too big to allow everyone in to begin with. Let everyone in just like all high school basketball teams get to play in districts. One last shot.
Iowa sucks. If we win today they finish the season with a losing record I’d be happy to see the Huskers hand that to them. Iowa would likely then fire its winningest coach in history.
The love fest for SH needs to end. For every “hustle” play he makes, he kills us with missed open 3s, forced layups he has no chance of making, and is a huge liability on D 1on1 against guards 5 inches taller than him.
You don’t start your walk-on son unless he would be wanted by other P4 teams—no other P4 team would be playing him more than 3 mins/half at most.
I have no idea why this Brauns kid never played until Freeman got hurt. Pretty solid player.
Worster is an offensive liability, but he’s the only guard NU has who can defend anybody. Hawkeyes getting wide open looks from three.
Herkies have shooters, which always scares me. Only way Huskers get it done is being more physical, imo. Gotta take them to the basket.
They're obviously playing defense how the coaches want them to and it's entirely dependent on the other teams missing 3's. Only problem? It doesn't work outside of 2-3 conference games per year. Everyone shoots well enough when left completely open.

I mean, I'm not so clueless to think I know more about basketball than they do, but at some point there's a reason why no team in the conference switches and doubles as much as we do.
