Which I think is one of the bigger pro's in the hire is if he is successful, you have your football coach at Nebraska for the next 20-30 years. This is his dream job, his home. College football recycles coaches, leading to system changes and little continuity among many programs. Having a coach here for that long of tenure gives you an added advantage over your competitors. Ferentz, Patterson, Gundy, Solich, Whittingham are the current longest tenured and all have established solid programs with a clear culture and steadiness, something Nebraska has been missing since Solich was fired in 2001.
