perfectly safe, nothing to see here, definitely not spreading a super communicable disease..
that whole thing has to be super embarrassing..

liberal leaders try to appease a liberal crowd, and everything goes south.. it's almost like people want to destroy their own lives, vote against their best interests, and believe in things that don't exist and live in the land of make believe..

Yes, I have heard of cross protection, and yes, it's an interesting phenomena, but unfortunately right now needs to be treated as speculation due to lack of concrete understanding of how it might be a factor in this pandemic. But, you don't build public policy on speculation. My background is in political science and public policy. I have multiple graduate degrees in the subjects, but shifted my career into analytics. So? What is your point? You may think I post stupid shit, due to your biases, and that's fine. I KNOW you post stupid shit due to yours.

My point is, we can either keep talking past each other, or figure out a way to try to simply focus on solid information and what the outcomes of specific choices might look like. Believe it or not, I don't enjoy the name-calling and other childish bullshit that often happens when politics are brought up. I just also am not going to stand by idly while people spout of ignorant, horrible claims and let them go unchallenged.
GOOD NEWS!!!!! 8 death row inmates at San Quentin have died from COVID!!!!!. Talk about saving the taxpayers money! Roughly half of the inmate population and over 200 prison employees have tested positive. San Quentin is designated as the only death row prison by California. They have over 700 death row inmates. California abolished the death sentence decades ago and as such they've got a LOT of death row inmates who are getting very old.

The bad news in this story is that they're at a 50% infection rate albeit in an extremely stressful, contaminated, cramped enclosed housing situation. You know, kind of like the Bronx. I'm not sure that says anything about what it will take to reach a population immunity level in a normal environment. In confined animals one would expect extremely high infection and death rates when a pathogen like COVID get in to the facility. In contrast you expect in non-confined animals much lower infection and death rates before the thing burned itself out. IMO the Bronx is a similar model to a prison setting and they had to get to near 70% to quiet things down there. I think the message from what we're seeing is that your level of community infection depends dramatically on how people in your location live. I've thought all along that prisons would be a GREAT place to do initial vaccine testing. Offer them a couple of packs of cigs or in CA maybe a couple of joints to take the vaccine.

As anybody with any common sense should have figured out by now, the people still protesting are anarchists. Their cause has nothing to do with any logical message. The liberal mayor and governor are enabling them but they would take them down too if they could because they aren't liberal enough. They wouldn't get away with their actions in my state. They tried it for a couple of nights but the governor had the national guard already in place. Ironically their social media posts alerted the authorities to the "peaceful protests" so law enforcement prepared for the rioting. Many of the people arrested were from out of state and MOST of them were between 16 and 23. It took them a couple of weeks to nab a kid in Kansas who had shot at police caught on a store security camera. Good choice. He's in jail on attempted murder charges and denied bail for being a flight risk.

well other than the relatives of the 1000 people who die every day. they want to get over it but can't. would you just get over seeing 1000 dead people laying outside your house everyday in the street? every. day.
you dont care because it hasn't affected you. a lot of others do care. dont speak for them
You might as well stop throwing this hissyfit. Far more than a 1000 people have died a day for the last 100 years in the USA.

On top of your misplaced panic deaths are being incorrectly categorized.

LOL i guess you dont understand these are an additional 1000 deaths per day on top of normal deaths. glad to clarify for you. For every 1 death miscategorized as covid there is at least another death due to covid that is not categorized as covid. so it all probably balances out. entire indian reservations with hundreds if not thousands dead from covid never reported a single death to any authorities. they just buried them. other people are dying in their homes and cause of death was never determined.

There are 7K people that die everyday of a numerous amount of causes and we go on with normal life, and if you are that scared then stay down in your bunker.
Only 2000 American soldiers died on D-day...way overblown. 1.5 million russian soldiers died in the battle of stalingrad....

Euthanasia kills people who are "about" to die as well. How do you feel about assisted suicide? Or suicide itself? Not a big fan of the slippery slope argument but using the "about to die" argument feels pretty slippery to me. Remember we are the country that introduced the idea of euthanasia among other things to the Nazis....

I hear you brother, I felt the same about all the hoopla over Vietnam, Afghanistan and Iraq casualties. If they were back home they would have gotten in car accidents and other stuff anyway. Plus, the death rate compared to the total people serving was like 0.01%, so they need to stop whining. I’m with Trump on that one, I prefer the guys that didn’t get captured or killed...

You mean like these deaths due to lockdowns, panic porn, and fear mongering?

A certain group thinks being disingenuous is a clever and valid form of debate and discussion. They are toxic.
