is TRASHING us right now on his radio show. His list of jobs is as follows
1)Florida State
2)Texas A&M
3)Arizona State
4) Tennessee
And then refuses to even put Nebraska on the list. I don’t even like Will Cain that much but he’s pleading our case pretty hard saying SF belongs here. That Russillo guy is a hack.

Well he has Arizona State ahead of us, that should tell you all you need to know about his football intelligence.

He is right .... If Frost goes to Nebraska ... it is only out of loyalty to his alma mater and Tom Osborne. If you think he would go there for any other reason, you are smoking something.
You are an idiot if you think jobs like ASU and aTm are better jobs than Nebraska. I get that you are upset you are losing your coach, but you don’t need to make yourself look ignorant too.

There’s also the fact he was born here and his family is here. There’s also the fact that we aren’t an 0-12 program like the one he took over with maybe 1/4 of the money he’ll have here. Being generous with that number btw cause the money isn’t even close. We have a lot of talent on this team. Really all we’re missing is that mentality that you’re not going to come in here and rock us. He took over UCF without batting an eye and look what he and his staff did in a two year span. I’m so tired of hearing that he can’t recruit here. Players commit to the school and the coach. Not whether or not it’s gonna be 75 degrees year round.

Yeah...if you are comparing the job to Florida and Florida St. But, if you are comparing it to UCF? It's a no brainer.

It's not ignorance. And I'm not upset about maybe losing the coach.

It's about the fact that Nebraska was good once .... with a certain offense they don't run anymore .... and certain players they can't get anymore .... Why do you think that, other than your possible hire of Frost, your coaching candidates were so crappy the last several times? It's because nobody wants to go there.

Last week you were claiming Frost was down to UF or UCF. Laughing....UF has their coach...so why won't Frost say he's all N is UCF?

Funny thing about jackoffs that like to point this out ........

Why did Urban Meyer go to Ohio State? How about Harbaugh to Michigan? Why is David Shaw still at Stanford? Or Gundy at okie state? Fitzgerald hasn’t had opportunities outside of NW? Where is Dabo Swinney headed the nanosecond Saban retires?

Fact of the matter is, that’s often how things work. Lots of coaches “go home”. We finally got one of ours to do so. We have the facilities and support to compete on the big stage. Have been missing leadership for some time.

One day you’ll probably get one of yours to do so. Or not. Don’t really care one way or the other.

Not sure what that means .... but .... I would agree he is leaning strongly toward you guys at this point .... but hasn't made the final decision. Lots of people pulling in several different directions.

He wouldn’t pick anyone over us to leave UCF. And he won’t say he’s staying. I guess we should be nice and let you hope for a few more days but maaaaan..reality is gonna hit you pretty hard on Sunday/Monday.

Decided to continue down the path of ignorance, I see. Nebraska’s problem has simply been having the wrong people, making the wrong decisions for the wrong reasons. When we hired Solich we could have had Barry Alvarez or Mack Brown. When we hired Pelini, we could have had Gary Patterson, when we hired Riley, we could have had Mike Gundy. And despite all our ineptitude from the admin, we still have won 9+ games 8 of the past 10 seasons and have won 3 division titles during that time, we also constsitently recruit in the 20’s. This during the darkest time in our programs history.

As you are finding out ... most national sports writers agree. The only ones that are stuck in a time warp are in Nebraska.
Oh you mean pushing the popular narrative? Lol anyone that knows anything about football knows that it comes down to fundamentals and coaching. Scheme is important but pulling in 5* recruits is fun. It’s nice to have. But far from necessary. You get a coach that can coach fundamentals and can pass a certain mentality down to his players you build culture and also a little bit of cockiness. Sports writers to me are equal to gorillas throwing excrement on the glass. 95% of the time is gonna come back and hit them in the face but they keep doing it for the 5% of the time that it sticks.

You could argue that. Conversely, you could also argue that we had didn’t have the right people doing the hiring. Or, you could argue that our focus was on the wrong things. It’s not as black and white as you’d like to make it seem. One thing is clear now, though. Scott is, for us, the right guy at the right time. I literally could not care less about what people think of the status of our head coaching job. The fact remains, though, that Scott is an excellent young coach and all signs point to him coming back home.

Russillo spends 75% of his time talking about NBA minutiae, his show is literally impossible to listen to.

Do you all remember the ESPN talking heads saying we had no chance to beat the Gators in the Fiesta Bowl? Nothing changes. We're never ever ever ever going to be the darling of the media. Ever. Embrace it.

Please don't use "national sports writers" as a resource...most don't know their arse from deep center field.

it doesn't really matter what other people think, just what frost thinks. once we start winning some important games, we'll regain our rightful place as a top 10 or 15 job.

I really thought your tune would change once it became apparent Frost is coming to NU - its about time to go back to your own board. We do not need lessons on NU history from some newbie fan of minor league school

Go back and watch some old games from our glory days...we continually took the national media by surprise by having amazing seasons. I mean we ended up winning a national championship with a backup qb...and having the greatest team in history, yet those teams were dismissed time and time again. Osborne won 9 games 25 straight years, he won 10 games 16 times, and yet people couldn't accept that such a mundane state could produce such a great product year after year after year. I would maintain our geography actually helps us...Lincoln and Omaha have populations nearly a million people, but are within 5 hours of Des Moines, St.Louis, Kansas City, and even Chicago. We are closer to those metros than any other major competitor outside of Iowa. And we are the only state university, meaning when we are on, we get EVERYONE from our state, and some for free. Our competition in our area is also pathetic... Kansas, Kansas State, Iowa, Iowa State, Missouri have such poor facilities, fan support, and investment that it is laughable. The first step is to dominate the states that border us...get every great player and go from there.

He would also behave this exact same way if he didn't know yet what he wanted to do.

It must absolutely suck to be so wrong so late in the game, when virtually everyone knows what is going to happen you still believe in fairy tales

You might be right. But that is because NU has been in decline for nearly 20 years. Don't act like NU wasnt once at or near the top of cfb for decades because it was. Also the ASU job is not better even in the current state. I understand your frustration. UCF is a stepping stone job for now. Scott will not be the last coach to cut his teeth there. But who knows if you guys keep it up maybe you into the p5 soon. Good luck to you. I hope you win out.

Unfortunately I agree with this. However, the world loves a comeback. In the 80's to the mid 90's, the Yankees were awful. People said the franchise's glory days were past them. Top free agents wouldn't sign with them in the 80's (outside of a very few), people were saying the Mets was New York's team, weren't very popular, and then they bam, they came back.

It's a little different in pro-sports but still similar. Just gotta get the right guy to make a comeback.

Every top program goes through up and down periods. Bama had a period of about 15-20 years of nothing. Tenn is in the same boat as us. Miami was down about 10-15 years. FL and FL st are both down. Ohio St was down before Myer getting there. Penn St was down about 10 years. You are saying it is easier to recruit to places like, Ohio st, Mich, Penn St, Bama. Nope. Stop spewing ignorance.

Im not so sure the Florida job is as enticing as it has been. Kelly didnt want Frost didn't want so they got #3. They are learning what happens when you fire a coach who has 2 division titles in 3 years. We learned a similar lesson with the way Solich was handled. Im sure Mullen will do well there but if hes not winning the SEC fairly quickly I bet they turn up the heat.

Awesome points, but the darkest time in the last 55 years, not in the program's history. I submit 1941-1961 as the darkest time. One bowl game, zero conference titles, despite playing in a conference of six, then seven and eight teams, and only three winnings seasons (and one break-even season) in 21.

That's what makes that stretch and the current stretch so amazing — Nebraska's excellence since virtually the first game in 1890.

In all, Nebraska has played 128 seasons of college football, and has been through only 24 losing seasons. The 21-season stretch between 1941 and 1961 accounted for 17 of those 24. In other words, take out those 21 years of futility, and Nebraska's other 107 football seasons have produced but seven losing years, further underlining that four losing seasons in the last 14 is catastrophic at Nebraska, as you accurately noted.

Whats funny about this is Bill Callahan pulled a top ten class right after one of worst seasons in NU history. So if an average HC like him can pull highly rated players what do you think a real winner who can develop and recruit will do?

Of course Frost's ties to Nebraska are the main reason he's likely going back there - who has ever argued otherwise?

But you've spent the past two weeks bloviating about how that still wasn't going to be enough to get Frost, and that if he left UCF it would be for Gainesville because the Florida job is just sooooooo much more attractive. You seem to be grasping for some explanation that makes you correct, when there isn't one.

Callahan managed two top 5 classes actually. 2005 class was #5 and in 2007 had a top 5 class again until he got fired, then the class of course had a bunch of decommits.

players we can't get any more????
You might wanna check our roster from Scott Frosts senior year 1997..
We have never recruited elite talent across the board. For every Tommie Frazier there were 5 players like Scott Shanle, Matt Davison, Etc. that were born and raised huskers, and had that Nebraska work ethic and desire that made those teams great. Its always been a balance of taking some speed from the coasts and mixing it with midwest toughness and work ethic. We have gotten away from that formula and hopefully scott will bring it back. Have you noticed who the lone undefeated teams left are this year. Wisconsin (Barry Alvaraz is a former husker) and UCF (Scott Frost is also a former husker)

You need to look at a calendar it is not 1971 or even 1995 it is 2017, Nebraska's facilities are probably not even top 5 in the B1G. Whatever you're smoking you should have never left Colorado.
