RIP Pat Fischer

"Born in St. Edward, Nebraska, Fischer stands as one of the finest players the Cornhusker State has ever produced. Like his three older brothers, Fischer played for the University of Nebraska, where he was a major contributor for three seasons and served as a team captain in 1960. He still holds the Husker record for career punt return average at 18.33 yards per return."

My dad knew his parents. Tremendous athlete.

To put his punt return record in perspective, over the last 3 years the Huskers have averaged 38 total punt return yards per season

He had a 17 year NFL career weighing a buck 70, while playing in era where there weren't any rules or good equipment to provide for player safety. Guy was a warrior - RIP.
Pound for pound he was all guts. Watched him play for the Huskers in Memorial Stadium in the late 50’s. Coach Bill Jennings was lucky to have him since he could do it all on the field. He kept the Huskers in games against many superior opponents single handedly. Probably the best NFL player ever to come out of Omaha Westside High School. RIP to a true Cornhusker!

I hope you're trying to be funny. An all-time great, one of four brothers to play for NU (and some of their sons did too). Brother of long-time assistant coach Clete. Nobody is more "Nebraska" than the Fischers.
PS. You're not funny. But if you really didn't know who he is, turn in your Husker card
Wasn’t born in the leather helmet days like you, old timer.

Hold on to your britches, it’ll be okay

I guess respect was lost somewhere after the "leather helmet" days too. A quick Google search would have provided you with all the information that you needed without having to sound like such a disrespectful clown. 🤷‍♂️
He could have been a little more respectful in his response. But OP didn’t have to make the comment on turning in his Husker card by not knowing. Both were out of Line in their comments IMO.

Sorry you got your feelings hurt on the internet, grandma.
