Eric Bieniemy out

"Head coach Andy Reid still calls the plays for the Chiefs, but the offense hasn’t been as effective as it was with Bieniemy on the staff."

With Mahomes at QB I believe I could call an effective offense for the Chiefs as well.

I think of a lot great coaches primarily benefited from their super stars.
Belichick and Tom Brady for one.
Osborne had quite the workhorses

So is Foster still considered a serious coach who only hires the best while Matt Rhule still sucks?

Some guys just weren’t meant to be in charge. No shame in being the guy who brings Andy his coffee and gets to carry the big boy menu.

At least their head coach takes corrective action at end of first year.
Bienemy instituted the west coast offense and had things going and now they fire him. Seems short sighted to me but I don’t like Bienemy too. He’s an asshole.

I just read an article that claims it was mutual agreement, that it was a one year deal and bienemy planned a return to NFL

That’s what his agent is trying to spin he signed a 2 year contract with a retention bonus if he was there next year: it wasn’t a one year deal

So UCLA has the 117th offense? Yet another reason why I am not sad to see Tony White go. Overrated in my opinion. And don’t give me the usual BS that he was handicapped this year by the loss of his DB coach. Or that injuries to Tommie Hill and others were crippling. Deal with it. What was his excuse last year when our defense routinely gave up points when we desperately needed a stop? That will be my enduring memory of a Tony White defense: play great for a while then wilt when it matters. Pile up great total defense statistics but give up an average of 4.5 yards per play and can't get a stop when it matters. For example, a very mediocre Michigan team beats OSU 13-10. And they achieved that by not allowing OSU to drive the field and score after the game was tied 10-10. That gave Michigan the opportunity to win. What did our defense do? Played great until we took the lead and then, when we had a golden opportunity to win our biggest game since OU 2001, our defense shits the bed. We lose. As usual. And the Indiana blow out loss was inexcusable. A top flight defensive coordinator does not have his team so poorly prepared to play that they get blown out like that and utterly dominated from start to finish. Indiana is good but not that good. And he got completely out coached by the OC of Illinois.

I agree. I’m not that sad to see White go either. There were times where our defense was so unprepared to play. I remember watching the Illinois game and how out of position they were and it left me feeling really uneasy. I think we’re gonna be just fine.

That’s what I was thinking, it was a spin job. Saying he went to help Foster (who he sees like a little brother) for one season is laughable. What if things went very well? Would he abandon his little brother ?

I heard when they only put 20 on us, things started spiraling downhill.
Happened at Purdue too after playing us. Their supporters reportedly started with the serious doubts about Walters. Turns out it was an accurate indicator

UCLA struggled early in the season but there offense played better as the season progressed. There was a steep learning curve installing what was basically Andy Reid’s offense. They were pretty darned good by the time they played us.
