RIP John Prine

Spectacular performer. Saw him live 7 or 8 times the past 10 years or so, always hoping it wouldn't be the last time. May he rest in peace.

Father forgive us for what we must do
You forgive us and we'll forgive you
We'll forgive each other till we both turn blue
And we'll whistle and go fishin' in the heavens

I thought my mom was crazy when she first had me listen to him.. talkin about the easter bunny and wanting to sniff undies. Lol dude was a legend.. great songwriter and performer

Hope they don't bury him down in that cold, cold ground...

"Please don't bury me" is my favorite Prine song.

"send my mouth way down south, and kiss my ass good bye"

RIP John Prine. I could listen to him and Nanci Griffith singing The Speed of the Sound of Loneliness for hours.

What in the world's come over you?
What in heaven's name have you done?
You've broken the speed of the sound of loneliness
You're out there runnin' just to be on the run

Very happy I didn't miss him the last time he was in Omaha. You never know when it's going to be your last chance.

"It's a happy enchilada and you think you're gunna drown...."

I discovered John Prine when I bought a used copy of his Bruised Orange LP just to listen to some new music. Just about wore it out over the next few weeks. RIP, sir.

Amazing songwriter. The poetry of his songs, damn..... Dylan can't touch that IMO.

i read an old dylan quote about him today, and found it very kind and humble.

so, we shut down the country for a couple guys?
sorry, really more concerned with tiger lady in florida getting sent to the pen.
