Rhule on the McAfee show

Everybody loved it when frost said it. We were all chugging kool aid, its revisionist history to think otherwise. In hindsight we realize his quote is dumb, and if he woulda actually backed it up, it would have never looked dumb.

Will rhule look dumb or like a stud? Time will tell.
Totally different. Only someone with an axe to grind would see it that way. Or someone pretty clueless.

Frost said something completely different and called out the conference. Rhule said something on a national TV show with recruiting momentum. Not comparable but keep the Husker hate
Keep the husker hate? Haha youre so soft.

Im not kidding, people loved that comference and what was said. Its hindsight revisionist history recognizing that he was a blowhard.

I don’t know if this post was in response to mine, but I didn’t have a problem with what Frost said at the time. It was overblown—then and now—by opposing fans taking it out of context. And yeah, it was arrogant, but who cares? Nothing wrong with a little smack talk in sports. Hell, I didn’t even have a problem with what Eichorst said about Iowa.

But I do think there’s a huge difference between Frost saying it without putting in any time or effort to back up his words, and what Rhule said. One is arrogance (again, that’s fine), the other is confidence.
Not you directly, no, and I agree. Just saying, everyone loved it when frost said it.

Just like with frost, if rhule burns out people will remember this negatively, and if he slam dunks people will always remember it positively.

Does anyone really think that if frost started winning titles people would have looked back and said, “ya know…frost really was a blowhard doosh when he said the big ten is going to have to adjust to us when he was asked about adjusting his offense for the big ten. He really hadnt proven anything yet and should have tip toed around.” Hell no, that quote would have been immortalized in husker lore forever.

Husker fans arent very self aware or honest with themselves. We mopped it up at the time.

Frost has always been kind of an arrogant prick. Not Rhule. Easy to look back and see Frost was just talking shit he couldn't back up. Rhule is on the verge of one of the biggest recruiting weeks in school history. And he seems to have the CFB world's attention.

I agree.

Im not blaming people for liking what rhule said, nor am I blaming people for initially liking what frost said.

I obviously hurt peoples feelings and people are quite touchy and defensive around here, but my initial post was more about frost and less about rhule. People dont seem to remember we loved it when he said it, and it bugs me. I still dont think it was a bad thing for him to say that.

I just prefer to try and block that time from my memory but the guys at work like to remind me.
