Rhule on the McAfee show

Rhule won't have many haters if he pulls a
this QB situation out of the dumpster in such dramatic fashion. I jumped aboard the Rhule train last year and although we've had a bumpy ride and saw some of the same crap as years prior , were on a new track . Let's see if it takes us to Bowlville first...forgot what the place looks like.

McAfee loves Rhule

players watch the PMS. it's as relevant as it gets in sports media.

Rhule publicly calling out our AD and boosters earned him a lot of positive publicity and was a move I respected greatly

whipped some folks into shape in a hurry, it seems

hoping the last 2 days aren't all smoke

Was just talking about that with a colleague. His NIL comments were so poignant and well timed. That was a chess move in a world of checkers

Don't say that!
The difference is that Scott Frost made that off the cuff remark after having been here for about 5 minutes, in an introductory press conference, without having put in a single moment of work (ironically, the same thing could be said after he’d been on the job for 5 years). Matt Rhule has had his nose to the grindstone and a vision for the program from the moment he arrived; he’s earned the credibility to say it if he believes it.

Under Frost, this quote would have made me cringe. But under Rhule? I don’t remember which poster said it (Old Jar?), but he was right: we’re a blue blood, and it’s time to start acting like it.

Everybody loved it when frost said it. We were all chugging kool aid, its revisionist history to think otherwise. In hindsight we realize his quote is dumb, and if he woulda actually backed it up, it would have never looked dumb.

Will rhule look dumb or like a stud? Time will tell.

Frost said something completely different and called out the conference. Rhule said something on a national TV show with recruiting momentum. Not comparable but keep the Husker hate

The whole interview is on YouTube and it seemed to be uncut.

Yeah, the uncut version is on youtube but they cut those interviews down to air later in the day on ESPN. The uncut version is worth watching, there was some great content in there.

THANK YOU!

Just like we all LOVED Bo for being a bad ass at first.

Fans need to get some thicker skin and better memories.

Being a hardcore fan is like being in a bad relationship. Those things that SHOULD be annoying we pretend we love at first.

I don’t know if this post was in response to mine, but I didn’t have a problem with what Frost said at the time. It was overblown—then and now—by opposing fans taking it out of context. And yeah, it was arrogant, but who cares? Nothing wrong with a little smack talk in sports. Hell, I didn’t even have a problem with what Eichorst said about Iowa.

But I do think there’s a huge difference between Frost saying it without putting in any time or effort to back up his words, and what Rhule said. One is arrogance (again, that’s fine), the other is confidence.
