Let’s give the man some credit for weathering some storms this year, and bringing the Huskers through looking better. With the season on the line, he made the decision to get Holgorsen, and get the offense fixed. We now have the best OC in the B10 and top 5 nationally.
Then on the cusp of signing day, he loses his DC and D-Line coach. All he does is hold the class together.
He is a man, who continuously self reflects, and acts upon his errors. He is not a perfect coach, but he doesn’t settle for “status quo” and is always moving the team forward.
I am the biggest Husker-Aid drinker on any board. But the man walked into a cultural mess and a lack of athleticism in the locker room. We are moving forward a lot slower than I like, but we are moving forward. I think patience through the bowl game is needed, as Rhule will gracefully let some coach’s go.
Like I said, Rhule is not perfect. There have been some situations, he’s had to navigate around. Missing out on the first OC he wanted was big. The Georgia Tech QB was a disaster, created do to the timing of his hire. McGuire wasn’t ready to handle a position group, but he recruited well. And just rebuilding this roster.
Matt Rhule is the right man for this job. Good things are coming. Hopefully, now at an accelerated pace. Let’s remember, it’s the bowl practices that are as important, as the bowl. It starts Dec. 28 in New York. GBR
