They'd be extremely lucky to get Miles (or even an interview). They (Purdue) is pouring 65 million into improved football facilities. I get the impression their new AD is really trying to appease the donors with this change.

They need to hire Bob Stitt.
They aren't getting miles, fleck, frost, or any other pipe dream coach.
They don't want a mac coach, or a coordinator.
Stitt would be great there.
Interesting tidbit, Hazell was a coach under Schiano at Rutgers before moving over to Ohio State under Tressel. I'd be shocked if Purdue went Schiano.I agree don't go with another MAC coach. Illinois has raised the bar for coaching hires at non-blue blood programs in this conference. They should go after Schiano. He has his baggage, but he was able to win at Rutgers. It's time Purdue goes after a defensive guy.
I've heard the same rumors coming out of the little apple carried on the south wind the other day.If I were Purdue, I'd give Les Miles a call. Even if he says he's not interested, it'd still be worth a shot.
If I'm Purdue, I go after Mike Leach. Snatch him up before Oregon does
Are you sure Purdue is a better job than Wash. State? I'm not.

Did Purdue forget that they're Purdue or was there some other reason I don't know about why he needed to be fired? I'm not saying they had to keep him, but do they think they're gonna get somebody who goes out there and pulls them ahead of OSU, Michigan, MSU, Wisconsin, etc.?
Believe it or not, despite their miserable history overall, Purdue does have a tiny bit of tradition in one area: producing pro caliber quarterbacks. Therefore, I think they should try and play off of that with this hire. Bring in a coach with a proven record at creating wide open passing offenses. Schiano? No way. Too defensive oriented. Leach? His passing teams are too gimmicky and he would not take the job anyway most likely. Les Miles? Well, that would be a "splash" hire and a school like Purdue would be lucky to have him. Would he take it? Doubt it. And his offenses were not that good. I think the best option would be an offensive coordinator for some pro team. Dare I say, someone like Langsdorf?
Hmmmm. Interesting. Maybe. Depends on how hot he thinks his seat might beWhat about Dan Mullen? He may be looking to get out of Starkville at this point and he's lost a little of his luster so Purdue may be able to buy while his stock is low.
Who?I think HCMF survives this year, but barely. But, I could be wrong.
Who?
