Hey. All I did was ask a simple question. But me thinks everyone knows Purdues coach given the amount of complaining over “dirty hits” after last years game.
And more importantly, nobody cares.

Ya. Purdue was beat up, had no depth, no OL, no CB’s and a hurt QB. Makes for a tough game. Walter’s is getting it rebuilt.
Playing at West Lafayette always feels like playing at a neutral site.
Sure felt that way vs Indiana state… basically sold out. Same for notre dame and Nebraska.
Oh man snowflakes ❄️ would never handle that today. All the signs and student section "Sal is dead. Go Big Red"!!
I very much enjoyed my one trip to Purdue for our game with them. The Purdue fans I met were really great. Had a good time.
Side bar. I took a recruiting trip to Purdue in the fall of 1986. The locker room seemed like a dungeon and everything else seemed dark. Watched some of their practice which seemed blah. But one thing stood out to me was how strong Jim Everett was - his name was on all of the lists that were up on the walls in the weight room. The dude was a horse.

I toured the campus and facilities and though it was nice. Good pizza place right off campus owned by a Nebraska dude I believe.
