Pretty telling post-game quote from Coach Riley

now what are you going to do about it, Coach?

Exactly!!! When they let go of Hughes people where jumping up and down and sayin "see, he's not afraid of making tough decisions for the benefit of NEBRASKA" --- but Hughes wasn't one of HIS guys. This will tell you about Riley's desire to make NEBRASKA be the best it can be- by letting go of one of his Friends. If he can do that then Riley is all N.

Probably more likely "bumped upstairs". Executive director of something or another.

6 one way...half a dozen another. It really doesnt matter to me but personally I dont want him having anything to do with "on the field" coaching of special teams. Hes not a good coach...period.

If he has some sort of "magical eye for talent" like some say then put him in that position and allow him to concentrate completely on that. But i think we know by now he isnt a good special teams coach. We definitely have a big enough sample size.

IMO its time to move on....I hope HCMR feels the same way and proceeds in that fashion.

holla

I watched Riley's reaction when they were called for the 12 men on the field. Other than dropping his gum, their wasn't one...

Pretty telling in my opinion.

Special team coach is out..

That may be the case, but post game, Banker said they kept the D on the field. the 12th man wouldn't be a Read miss if that is the case.

People keep talking about adding a 10th coach. Kind of off subject, but how many do they get in basketball? Watching the basketball game, there looks to be 9 coaches on the Husker bench. Why does basketball have as many as football?

I think they have 4 full time coaches and a couple GA's.

They actually have too many coaches in college basketball. So much so that guys are getting "feedback" for every little thing they do-- games, practice, shoot-arounds-- and are afraid to make mistakes.

He used to play here... so he is the best option.

Not just that, but he was at San Diego Riley's last year, 8 years as a special teamer in the NFL and has been an assistant ST teams coach in the NFL for 7 years. I think he might be qualified.

Mike Leach to Texas LSU or Oregon would give prop them up to perennial Alabama type dominance.

Leach at LSU would be very very interesting. Top 10 recruiting classes (probably) each year, in a conference that for the most part is pretty conservative on offense, he would not be, which would drive SEC DC's crazy.

He would do all he could to pummel the lesser teams in the conference and I think the fan base would probably love him in Baton Rouge.
