Well they do have a very doable schedule and they have Altmyer coming back at QB.
Ill has Duke in the non-con, so that game is not a lock. B1G games that are tossups include NU, MSU, Iowa, Minny, and Indy. tOSU is a loss. Four losses is a reasonable prediction.

Illini B1G schedule

@Purdue
tOSU
@Washington
Rutgers
Maryland
@Wisconsin

5 home games.

They do not play the Clarkeyes.

Microsoft Edge's AI is a POS. Top result appearing in the browser is incorrect. That's a cushy schedule. 9-3 is a reasonable expectation.

IL is a good team with a nice QB and they play defense. I did see a few of their guys selected. BB will have them playing well.

South Carolina had a nice run to end the year. They had their starters in and wanted to beat IL. IL was the better team

South Carolina will be good next year. Might have the best QB in college football.

Illinois will be an interesting storyline to follow, as will the post-Shedeur Buffs. I won't go out of my way to watch any of either's games but I'll look for the final scores probably.

Where is Indiana? Is the thinking that last year was a one hit wonder? If I were a Hoosier fan I would be pissed to see Nebraska ranked after they annihilated us last year.
The first four B1G games for them are Ill, Iowa, Oregon and MSU. They also face PSU. Non-con schedule is a joke. I would think 3-4 losses.

How many bowls did we go to and win under Scott Frost? Did we have a QB like Raiola under SF?
Who cares. Another half a quarter and Rhule would have lost that bowl game. Yeah, happy they finally made it to arguably the worst bowl game of College Football 2024. Whoopie whoo.

At the time, we all thought Adrian Martinez was that QB under SF. Hell, go compare their freshman stats. You could argue AM had a much better year without 2 extra starts. Remember how that played out? So, you never know.

We are still a few key injuries away from being 6-6 or 5-7 again. Yeah, sure, I'd love to drink that offseason kool-aid, but that's just foolish.

Obviously, I come off as being negative, but until I see some real results, I'm not falling for this offseason BS... again.

Remember how that played out? So, you never know. You could argue that but Raiola's upside as a QB is still much higher than Adrian Martinez.

Does protecting yourself from your feelings really change how the season will go? I'm confused on what real results you are looking for. The team had a 2 win improvement from the previous year, went to and won a bowl game, regardless if it was the worst bowl game in the history of college football. Are you simply not going to believe any of the hype until Nebraska is back in the playoff? There is no reason to not buy into incremental improvement, and look forward to the upcoming season. It sure beats being miserable the whole offseason waiting for the other shoe to drop.

I knew Adrian was a whiff as soon as he made that bone head lateral in the OSU red zone. I was very very hated for that opinion.

Raiola needs to be more accurate on his deep ball in game this season.

Mike Ekeler and his the improved special teams is worth at least 2 more wins.
How many blocked punts/kicks did we have? I'm thinking it has to be near 10. Add in the bad snaps, missed kicks, long returns given up and 2 wins seems reasonable. Also is Alvano still on the team?

Alvano is on the team and apparently had a good spring.

Alvanto only played the first three games last year and we have Hohl back for his Sophomore season.

Now Ekeler is looking for Australian type punter.
