Probably realized during camp that he wasn’t gonna play at LSUSo, why didn't he do this when everyone else did?
YES
this is the way
hope we see him out there on Saturday
Fidone is only a Jr this year. Unless he goes pro he's got another year left I think.Fidone's replacement next year ?
Can he play RB?Holy crap!! ..and sweet!! So we going 4 wide TE sets now?
If true, then this a huge ego hit for our neighbors to the east as his dad was a Hawkeye hero to many.
His dad always wanted to play for the Big Red but didn’t get the chance. So his heart was a legacy husker - his jersey paid the bills.

Thinking if he has the year I expect he is gone, but time will tell.Fidone is only a Jr this year. Unless he goes pro he's got another year left I think.
So even legacy Hawkeyes know that Iowa sucks? His dad always wanted to play for the Big Red but didn’t get the chance. So his heart was a legacy husker - his jersey paid the bills.
He wanted the best for his son - welcome to Lincoln!!!
I_wa fans will tell you they are 4 deep with future NFL TE's already. So even legacy Hawkeyes know that Iowa sucks?
That could be a possibility. The only problem is they don't have any QB's to throw them the pigskin.I_wa fans will tell you they are 4 deep with future NFL TE's already.
He was probably 4th or 5th string and decided to look for a place that had a better chance to play.I’ll tell you what likely happened. He’s from St. Louis so he’s pretty much used to the Midwest vibe. Got down to the Bayou, which has some great football and great fans. But ultimately, they are also pretty freaking weird. If you’ve ever spent any time in the deep south, you feel like a fish out of water.

This is true. They got to get their deep fat frying habit under control.Everyone down there is fat
So Iowa fans will now tell you that he was being recruited for the OL, he said ‘No thanks’ and headed south.I_wa fans will tell you they are 4 deep with future NFL TE's already.
dads want their kids to play for Rhule. They know they're going to be treated well and fairly.
the roster limits per the NCAA would likely have something to do with that. We would have had to drop somebody off the practice roster I think to add him before classes started. He's got a month and a half to get up to speed in the offense then we can use him without burning his redshirt. So, why didn't he do this when everyone else did?
Got clarification he can walk on and join the team now . Heard both ways on eligibility right away however.Don’t believe he can join the team until December. The portal window is closed until December. This according to @TimVerghese
I think a news story said the portal was opened a month or so ago. When did he enter the transfer portal? I thought it was closed? Or can you just go to another school as a walk on and don't have to use the portal?
It's silly season in college sports.
Thanks. I thought I heard it was closed now and then saw a post that he had entered the portal and was signing with Nebraska that made it sound like those two things happened about the same time.I think a news story said the portal was opened a month or so ago.
with today's rules, I don't doubt one bit that he'll be eligible. The portal was open. He started classes and he's never transferred before. He'll be good to go as soon as he learns the offense.Looks like a great pickup; but it’s hard to imagine a scenario where he can transfer between programs in August and immediately be eligible.
How's that even work? He loses the year either way but just can't play in a game? From what I can tell the last time to enter the portal was the end of April.Apparently he didn't enter the transfer portal. He just left LSU and enrolled at Nebraska.
You enter the portal if you want to be recruited by another team. He chose to go his own way and went to Nebraska and is therefore eligible to play right away. How's that even work? He loses the year either way but just can't play in a game? From what I can tell the last time to enter the portal was the end of April.
Are you sure? That seems crazy. What would stop anyone who loses a position battle from transferring to the rival right before the season? You enter the portal if you want to be recruited by another team. He chose to go his own way and went to Nebraska and is therefore eligible to play right away.
i read a story earlier today that said he had entered the portal a few weeks ago. That appears to be incorrect. I'm confused.Apparently he didn't enter the transfer portal. He just left LSU and enrolled at Nebraska.
That's a reasonable explanation but man.You enter the portal if you want to be recruited by another team. He chose to go his own way and went to Nebraska and is therefore eligible to play right away.
Probably nothing other than enrollment rules. Didn't we lose a guy to Oregon State that way. Gebbia? Are you sure? That seems crazy. What would stop anyone who loses a position battle from transferring to the rival right before the season?
I think people just call it the portal even when someone hasn't actually entered.i read a story earlier today that said he had entered the portal a few weeks ago. That appears to be incorrect. I'm confused.
That's what Callahan and Sipple said. I'm guessing it was because he hadn't started classes yet.Are you sure? That seems crazy. What would stop anyone who loses a position battle from transferring to the rival right before the season?
probably need more help on the offensive line, so might run heavy sets a lot to start out protecting QB1The timing of this is very odd. What is the back story?
