Let's understand what this guy is. We already have 3 DE for 2 spots: RVP, Lenhardt, Davis. Jeudy as the NT. Plus this Nwaneri is supposedly coming but I havent seen him announce it. This guy is listed at 6' 2" 265, as a true sophomore at ETSU. Butler was 6'5" 260, as a 5th year player at NU. Looks like they hope to get him in our strength program and have him provide depth. It's not like they penciled him in as a starter.

Yeah, I don’t know that will be our lineup. The more I seen some of the visitors, the more I think we could play more of an actual 4 man front. IF that happens, and I am only making stuff up here… then RVP and Jeudy are DTs, with Lefotu and Goldman as backups. DEs would then be Keona, Cam, Nwaneri, George
Then add any other DL guys we can land.
If I am the coaches I try to sign 4 DT next class, including a JUCO guy. It isn’t easy for us to land portal guys because 100+ other teams are trying to as well
Maybe, but if that is the case we should have tried to keep Williams. He is better suited for 4-3 DE. I haven't seen any indications we are moving to a base 4 man front, but I could be wrong. What visitors are you seeing that cause you to think this?

You aren't making first team off .5 sacks.
Gabriel Moore and AJ Peña. If they do end up visiting or did visit. Both look to be around 250 pound edge guys.
We lost 3 edge guys that played. We need to add back at least 3 edge players of equal or better ability. We're not going to sign everybody who visits. We're not even going to offer everybody who visits.

Just go away already. You have spent years trolling a message board, that is about the most pathetic existence possible.
This is why I am not happy with grabbing this guy. We could get this level of player (whether he pans out or not) at any point during this portal period. We are trying to fill the void of players that were good players for our team. Do not need projects and an FCS player that was a DT that is going to be molded into DE. That is not a good pick up at this time in the process.

We don't know what kind of player he can be. They obviously see something they like there. They've watched game video we haven't. They've seen him in person and no doubt went through some evaluation in our facility. It's unwise to judge a DLine player's value by statistics alone. Some people were critical of Ty and Nash this year without considering that they were eating double teams all year and Nash was playing with a banged up knee. We need guys for depth and they think he can provide that.
They aren't desperate. There's going to be more portal additions as teams are eliminated from the playoffs. The problem is that no high value DT or edge is going to want to come in and sit behind the guys we already have on the roster penciled in as starters. We're not going to promise starting jobs to transfer DTs or edge guys IMO. RVP is a stud and I can't imagine getting a guy better than Juedy in the portal. The price tag will be ridiculous if we do. What do you do then with RVP and Juedy to keep them happy? It's going to be a precarious balancing act.
3 young, semi-experienced, talented DE's with Nwaneri supposedly joining the group. I doubt people are beating down the door to compete for playing time here. RVP has 3 years. Davis 3 years. Lenhardt 2. Nwaneri 4.
Our staff may not feel the need as urgently as we do for DTs. We have young guys there that none of us really know what they can be. I've heard talk about Goldman for one. We all forget that Bo played Steinkuhler at DT weighing in at a whopping 260-265 lbs. That was from his lips. He said he weighed more when they started camp but couldn't keep the weight on.
Our DL coach may still be learning his players’ names much less what they can do on the field
I’m referring more to our DC and head coach’s feelings about our young D linemen than Bradden’s.
In terms of interior, ready to go guys, that would be RVP and Jeudy. Of the bench kids, Sua fits the size bill, as does Parrott, Borchers and Black. The only kid on that list that has drawn any attention is Sua. Played 3 games his RS year, then had an early season injury this year and wasn't really needed for the rotation. If they needed another DT body this year, they've wouldn't have red shirted RVP.
I would say the staff gets 1-2 big guys for depth. I would say 1 is needed.
