Really iowa??kid who had NU on his shortlist now does not
we need a handful of immediate impact guys
according to Robin Washut, he had expressed interest in NUI don't think we were ever on his short list, or even his long list
I would agree on that , but is Fred coming back for sure . A OP stated a little smoke the lastIf you are a power 6 caliber talent I would think the bare minimum requirement when looking for a potential landing spot would be to have a reasonable expectation of playing in the ncaa tourney - I don’t know how you can sell that to any potential portal guys when you are bringing Fred back given his track record

Jeff Linder was a rising star in the coaching ranks a year or two ago, but that Wyoming program has gone into a free fall.

I’m not sure why Fred wants to keep coaching. He could retire nicely tomorrow. WAY too much stress IMO.I would agree on that , but is Fred coming back for sure . A OP stated a little smoke the last
48 hours that Trev is kicking some tires.
*disregard the offensive foul & the CSU orange Aggie throwbacks*
Notre Dame is not a better job than Creighton.Just saw a tweet from “coaching changes “ that there were rumblings about Greg McDermott. If he left Creighton, that would change a whole lot of ex Nebraska high school players interest in going back to Creighton. May even make some current players look at leaving. Also possible his agent is floating it out there to get him a big raise.
Notre Dame is not a better job than Creighton.
ohio state was not open last year. chris holtman was hired there in 2017. he's 123-75 over his stay. previously at butler, he was 70-31 and all three years in the tournament, best finish sweet sixteen.Didn’t McDermott turn down Ohio State last year? Creighton is a really good job.
I believe he did, my guess there is only a certain job he would leave for.But who knows maybe there isn’t.Didn’t McDermott turn down Ohio State last year? Creighton is a really good job.
notre dame is not a basketball school, like N in that way. it's a hurdle in attracting qualified basketball coaches when the primary sport is football. that's the case here. clearly, nd is a more well known institution than creighton, but it does not have the jays hoops' reputation and tradition.
At the risk of interrupting all of the Creighton fans - Holy Crap!
It’s a better Basketball job, now Working at ND over Creighton in general there might be a debate. I don’t root for Creighton but have met Mac a couple of times seems like a good Dude.I want to believe Creighton is a better job but I'm just not sure. I guess whatever happens...happens. Hope he stays.
he tried the isu gig and that didn't work. he's uber successful at creighton. i can't imagine him leaving. going to nd is not like going to duke.I want to believe Creighton is a better job but I'm just not sure. I guess whatever happens...happens. Hope he stays.
I've also heard from boosters it was like pulling teeth to get him a pretty negligible raise this past offseasonMac is looking around a bit because of the new(er) AD at CU. He doesn't have the same "freedoms" he once did with Rass. Nothing bad or wrong, just some AD's expect different things. Rass was sort of like Moose.
Basically the same reason that the talks with OSU started and then stalled.

McDermott doesn't even make hoiberg dollars (on paper)If that is true then Creightion officials are total fvcking morons and deserve to be dumped by Greg for a better school...still not sold that school is ND (not saying it is or isn't either) but it doesn't matter what I tbink.

their new AD must've graduated from the same cheap bastard admin program as Trev
because it's a private institution, they are 'required' to publish something about contracts, but not everything.$1,369,949
Greg McDermott (born November 25, 1964) is an American basketball coach who has been the head coach of the Creighton Bluejays men's basketball team since 2010.
that number seem way low to me when i looked it up. i'm sure you're correct.because it's a private institution, they are 'required' to publish something about contracts, but not everything.
Greg's real take home pay is closer to double that reported number, but still less than we pay a hat rack to lose 65% of his games at NU
Yeah, the new AD sort of knows that he has Mac where he wants him (for now)because it's a private institution, they are 'required' to publish something about contracts, but not everything.

Rumor is, about 5 coaches have said "no" mostly because Del Conte is a jackass.i'm not sure texas is open. the whole rodney terry interim thing is strange.
i suspect there's already an agreement in place. they're not putting it out because terry's using it as motivation for his squad. otherwise, chris del conte is just an ignorant azzhat.
don't forget SyracuseYeah, the new AD sort of knows that he has Mac where he wants him (for now)
This cycle as of right now doesn't help either, nothing is really open except fro ND and UT.
ND would be a nice gig. UT would mean Macs death in about 5 months. UT boosters are insane.
Didn't Cuse just promote that asst coach?don't forget Syracuse
