Please explain reason for sports bra for men

If the tank top doesn't keep your arms/shoulders free and loose enough and a simple t-shirt is out of the question, then please someone help me understand the strategical advantage of a skin tight sports bra for men. I see the players warming up for the game tonite in their sports bras. Other than a burning need to look like a beta, what exactly does it do for you? I'm nearly 60, so yeah, not up on stupid trends. Please help me ward off my impulse to insult for amusement. That is all. GBR.
