Pat Fitzgerald fired

THIS???
Northwestern Wildcats hold the record for the longest losing streak in college football history, having lost 34 games in a row from 1979 to 1982. The Wildcats ended their losing streak by defeating Northern Illinois Huskies 31-6 on September 26, 1982. The Wildcats' losing streak was the second-longest in major college football history after Columbia's 44 games in a row during the 1981 season.
Yeah, they were horrible. And they are heading back that way.

Fitz might as well resign right now, sit out this year and then go take Indiana next year.

I used to think that Fitz was a really good coach because he beat us so often. But now I know that it was more about our coaching ineptness and not about him. There isn't one game we have played against Northwestern since we joined the B10 where they had a roster better than ours, but the record is 5-6.

Fitz would do well at a place like Iowa state or hell if Prime can’t coach, Colorado would be lucky to have him. I would hate that because I like Fitz but hate Colorado
Oh yeah, for sure...or like an ASU, Cal, Sandy...lame places where no one cares and he can pull off an upset here and there.

Good

F*ck him

Overrated blowhard
It always shocked me that his name popped up for so many gigs and I always wondered if it wasn't just his agent (probably) having connections with media guys.

Clearly his record was not going to land him some amazing job and neither was his recruiting.

His agent probably belongs in the HOF for agents.

Fitz’s record in his first 2 seasons was 10-14, then he hired Mike Hankwitz to be his DC. From 08’ - 20’ he would go 96-65 with Hankwitz running his defense. The 2 seasons since Hankwitz retired, he has gone 4-20.

Odd timing... One would think if that were true they would have done this at the end of the season... if this is the case then this is a sacrificial/lost season... sounds almost like what happened with Frost when NU didn't fire him the season prior...

I actually have a lot of respect for the guy... I'm sure he'll end up somewhere decent... I think he'd do well in a Big12 school... perhaps Houston if they truly do move on from Dana and their new conference
Actually good timing. The first couple of weeks in July usually is the time coaches take vacation.

A former Northwestern University football player told The Daily some of the hazing conduct investigated by the university involved coerced sexual acts. A second player confirmed these details.

The player also told The Daily that head coach Pat Fitzgerald may have known that hazing took place.

“I’ve seen it with my own eyes, and it’s just absolutely egregious and vile and inhumane behavior,” the player, who asked to remain anonymous in this story, said.

The former player said he reported his experiences to the University in late November 2022. He alleges that much of the team’s hazing centered around a practice dubbed “running,” which was used to punish team members, primarily freshman, for mistakes made on the field and in practice.

Jacked up - I think when hazing gets brought out now it’s not the traditional stuff people think of - bad deal if allegations are true and honestly glad they are brought to light to keep it from happening there and other places.

Kind of crazy that this stuff is still going on in this day and age. Also crazy that Pat would t know about any of this.

I’m surprised they didn’t fire him.. What‘s the purpose of a two week suspension unless they have no direction on who a new head coach could take over on such short notice..

He's talked about toughening up his players after a loss. I wouldn't be surprised at all if he either encouraged it or knew about it and looked the other way.

Pat outta turn off his phone and go to Hawaii for 2 weeks. I doubt he would get recognized.

I think we now know why NW sometimes overachieves on the field regardless of the “strict” academic standards…No way the players doing this dumb gay stuff are actually smart enough to legitimately get into that school.

LMAO!!!! Who could’ve ever seen that coming?!

Such classic B1G behavior perpetrated by every B1G fan’s favorite coach.

F*ck this conference & all who defend it
I really hoped this would not be the details.

I still do not agree with you often, but the B1G has a taint only, “Deliverence”, brings to mind.

My suspicion is this happens far more than reported.

Hell, the Royals in London like “pegging”.

Things are weird.

never forget the Nebraska fans who truly and proudly believe these perverts are more closely aligned to Nebraska values than the SEC

this disgusting deviance literally never ends in the holier than thou, butthole obsessed B1G

What else could it be in the b1g?

Many perverts here will rush to the conference’s defense and insist on-field ‘cheating’ that occurs in the SEC is far more deplorable than this sick shit

Just watch

I say the answer is to idolise athletes furthur, and build massive structures aimed at idolising young athletes even more.

Common sense is gone at hundreds of millions of dollars.

B1G since 2011:

1 major sports national championship

8 public settlements for crimes against humanity totaling nearly half a billion dollars

perverted deviants include, but are not limited to: sandusky, mich st doctor, michigan doctor, ohio st doctor, minnesota hockey coach, pennst dog f*cker, entire northwestern football program

all appear to be serial perps whose student victims number into the thousands and were not slowed in the least by administrations responsible for collecting hundreds of millions in public grant/federal funding under the guise of education

classic, classic stuff

I played sports for a long time but I fortunately never had to deal with something like this. Hope they fire Pat, then expel anyone who sexually assaulted another person during this 'hazing' crap and after that, provide that information to the police so they can be criminally charged. It's absolutely unacceptable and anyone involved should be punished to the maximum extent possible.
