What are the chances we can land this kid? From his latest interview with a PA reporter, he said his favorite visit was Nebraska. Raved about the visit and how crazy it was. Do we really think we can land this kid over Penn State, Ohio State, Alabama, & Florida State? Just curious what everyone thinks, especially after hearing Moore say we have a 5* & 4* "silent commit". (Which to me means nothing), but Parsons and Tufa were the only true 5* players to visit and one is already committed to Alabama.

All the crystal balls are for OSU and PSU, but I remember an article from the big event in Oregon after his FNL visit and it stated that Nebraska was rumored to be his leader and he was wearing Nebraska gear (not that that means anything). He is planning an OV and it will need to go great. I would say we are an underdog, but have a shot.

Isn't OSU's base D a 4-3? I know he wants to play in a 3-4 as an OLB. Would be a waste trying to put another 15-20 pounds on him to play DE when he's ready to go now. Guess he could play any LB role in a 4-3 and be just as good with that athleticism though.

Of course Parsons to Nebraska would be a big surprise, but I like where we sit this early in the process. I'm not sure what his visit schedule looks like, but I'd like to see him on campus later in the year... try to be his last or second-to-last visit and blow him away with our incredible fan support.

Gotta love this board.

Some people's on this boards logic is so pessimistic...

Bookie wears a Florida hat. Tweets a bunch about the Gators. Fans see it as "Kids going to flip on us. Gator Lock"

Parsons wears husker gear. Loves his visit. Tweets about NU. Fans see it as "we have no shot on him"

Love the contradiction

Won't be surprised to see him pick any school. Unless it's been reported elsewhere that he is going to commit on a certain date, my bet is Parsons goes almost up to NSD.
I think that is probably right. He could literally just show up and play almost anywhere, soooo...

In recruiting I hope for the best but expect the worst. In life I am not like that at all.

Well if he visits there's a chance.

Nobody knows where this kid is going.Osu,Psu or maybe the huskers,Alabama or fsu.James Franklin and staff are doing a great job and the spots are filling up really fast with quality kids.Osu can't just show up anymore. Its good to see Nebraska seems to have some mojo in recruiting.Wish you luck for the upcoming season.

Dad has alot of say with Parsons and they don't want him too far away. May work against you. There's been some thought that where Parsons goes, Oweh is going elsewhere, so I'm surprised there's no Oweh mentions here. Either school would be happy with either one, though Parsons is clearly the prize.

My two cents, this kid feels alot like Lamont Wade last year. He wants to make sure he's signing with a contender. He's said several times he wants to play for National Championships which gives OSU a leg up and he's close with Larry Johnson. If dad gets his way he ends up at PSU. Like I said, my two cents.

If Parsons commits to OSU that may push Oweh to PSU, but I can't see the reverse of that scenario happening.

If we can win games, he will commit here. I think he loves it here but he also wants to play for champonships. Start the year 6-0 and I think we get him.

Parsons has definitely been showing Husker love. Any OSU or PSU fan saying Huskers have no chance, is stupid. The kid definitely sees something in the Huskers he likes. Right now, it appears to be a 3 way battle with OSU, PSU and Huskers. He's definitely BIG10 kid. So that helps us.

I am about to post something not pumping sunshine up your collective asses. I think the Parsons kid likes the attention Nebraska fans provide to his social media. Reminds me a little of the Lewis fellow from last year. Don't think we have a real shot here. Hope I am wrong.
His recruitment reminds me of Lewis too, but I view it different. I think we were legitimately in it for Lewis, just couldn't seal the deal. Parsons is similar, it will take a great effort, great visit and great season to seal the deal, but we have a shot. I really think the interest is legit, but that doesn't mean we will beat out OSU and PSU to get him.

As a fan of your levelheadedness and straight shooting posts, I agree with your assessment. Winning, as stated above, is the best recruiting tool. 8-4= < 25% chance on parsons 10 wins = 50%. I see us having an 8-4 year. 3-4 D could be a big variable though

My only hope is we put out a defense that he sees as one that he can thrive in. Then give him the superstar vs. just another athlete pitch at OSU/PSU etc.

Except that isn't what Lewis was doing. More to be seen there behind the seems he had a lot of pressure to stay home

I think its chicken or egg situation. Is social media what keeps him interested, or is social media buzzing because he is interested? Id say the latter. If we field a winning team we have a chance. Absolutely we do, especially with peer recruiting and the defense backfield we have ben recruiting.

Those pressures were always there. He knew deep down he wasn't coming here but still continued, up until the end, to keep Nebraska fans believing there was a chance.

I think Lewis had genuine interested, just couldn't get away from California. Parsons could be playing the same flute here, but the beat could be different. GBR

I agree. I think Lewis had legit interest in Nebraska and that we were even the front runner at one time.

It's called cash... If Nebraska was willing to pay a few hundred thousand bucks, Lewis and Parsons might both be at Nebraska. The fact is, it is hard to compete with cold hard cash.
