Boys State. You have to watch a lot high school basketball before you see a shot and an ending like this. Good stuff.

Well, not really, you can just click on your link and watch. Doesn’t really matter how many HS basketball games you’ve watched before now. 😉

But that was awesome BTW and thanks for sharing. 👍🏻

I'm assuming the kid who made that shot for Norris, Boesiger, is related to Husker VB player Maisie Boesiger? She also went to Norris.

Anyway... that kid is a local legend now. He'll never have to pay for another burger or beer in his hometown for the rest of his life. 😂

They're Cousins.. I graduated HS with their parents (both dads & Maisies mother).... Maisie's mother is also the VB coach at Norris and just won the state championship

Their Dads are brothers. Both were excellent HS athletes in their own right.

Let’s not forget they were down 6 under a minute left. Pius choked at the free throw line, Norris tied it up with a 3 pointer with 3 seconds remaining, then this Hail Mary. One of if not the best finishes in program history. Especially if they win the next 2 for the title
I haven't seen it but I've heard the tying 3 was from WAY long too? Whoever made that thought he was gonna get some cred - nope!

Pius really needs to stop trying to throw it deep on their inbounds passes.

I was at this game with our minister. Down 17 points with three minutes left . . . the rest is on the video. I have been fortunate to be on down the bench as a coach in state title games, but this game was the very greatest basketball game I have ever attended.

Believe me, I agree with you. However, especially in Lincoln and Omaha recruiting isn't limited to the private schools.
That's no excuse. Ask yourself how Omaha Skutt is winning all of these championships. It ain't superior coaching. Have the Skutt coaches switch places with the Schuyler coaching staff for a few months and we'll see how that goes. And when Skutt has kids coming in from Iowa and kids coming in from SE of Lincoln, etc, they sure as hell aren't non-athletes coming from a low income families or kids who have behavior or psychological issues. Those kids move in to the schools that Skutt plays against.

I was told by a Priest that catholic schools don’t recruit but they control their enrollment. But it’s also my understanding that Skutt is in the Omaha diocese and they spend big money on getting the best athletes

Yep I know it well. I get things are different now but there is something special making a run at a title with the kids you grew up with in the neighborhood

You're a liar. Public schools, especially at that level, recruit much more than parochial schools. Not sure about Norris particularly.

Spewing crap you don't know. Classic liberal and a jealous public school liar to boot.
Ho Lee Shit man get a grip. Not sure how wanting neighborhood kids to go to their neighborhood school is a classic liberal take but you do you.

Of course they control their enrollment. They only have so much space.

Even though Skutt is known for their sports, I'm pretty certain their academics are really good too.

We live in the Millard area and we're not sending our kids to a Class A school (MN, MS or MW). That leaves Skutt for our area of town. Course, no idea if we'd send our kids to Skutt either...

Academically Millard is a really good option to have
