OT: New tires for pickup

Last time I needed advice for tires, I got some great feedback on here, so giving it another whirl:

Needing new 20" tires for a 2011 Dodge Ram 1500 Outdoorsman 4x4. Mainly drive on highway/city, but do go back to the farm for occasional work/help. Would prefer to stay in the $1000ish range altogether and want something that performs well in snow. Are Michelin's the way to go?

You'll never go wrong with Michelins. Just put a new set on my wife's JEEP replacing the factory tires. I have some Hankooks on my farm truck and they've been alright as well but you generally get what you pay for in tires and my tire guy says he sees alot fewer problems with the Michelins (as in none) than he does on the Hankook he sells. I do know a set of Hankooks we put on our church van last year did not last as long as I had hoped.

Tirerack and I went on Walmart.com and found tires on rollback and you get a discount for buying them there, when u get them put on.

Just ordered some 275-60-20 Michelin ltx2s for my truck. I drive mostly highway, with 4 miles of gravel and the occasional off road hunting/fishing excursions . I have had the same tires on for the last 60k, could squeeze another 10k out of them, but with winter coming, I am swapping them for new. ordered from discount tire direct for 980 shipped, also a 100 dollar visa gift card. pretty good deal I guess.

I don't have a truck, but got new tires all around in October. Went back to Michelins after a set of Pirellis only made it to 45k. Michelin seems to handle better as they wear. I really hate sliding when I need to stop.
