I want to read and hear about your experiences.
I was camping (just north of Harrison in the Gilbert-Baker Wildlife Area) before and after the eclipse. I had pin-pointed the exact center of Totality (south and west of Agate Fossil Beds National Monument) and had to drive 35 miles on dirt/gravel roads to get there. It was truly remote, though there were many obsessed people out there just like me.
Here's what I will say: (1) northwest Nebraska is God's country, and (b) the Totality is everything. Even at 98% it's not that great, but at 99% it's positively weird and at 100% occlusion the lights go out in a way that changes everything. It gives new meaning to the word "awe."
What a fantastic experience. Nebraska showed really well to many people from other states, most of whom had never visited. I heard nothing but good things from all those domestic foreigners.
Well done Nebraska!
