Yea, still some good ones out there but dating is a lot harder than it used to be.

Dollar Menu: Our night ends with a bro hugs.
Large-Sizing anything: We do some dry-humping. Possibly a Handy, if I add on some cookies or a sundae.
Full Combo Meal: I'm getting Mc fellated.

First foray into dating in my late 40's, after divorce from a 26 year marriage to my high school sweetheart was setting up a profile on Farmers Only, i was still on crutches from a nasty cycling accident where I doubled as a hood ornament for a car doing 40....and I disclosed that I still needed crutches so my mobility was currently limited...very first chick who responded asked if I needed help with a sponge bath...so #7 it was!!

As a young man I read "How to Pick Up Women". It listed 20 great pickup lines and explained why. One of them was "Do you have an aspirin?" The idea is women have an innate nature to heal.

Divorced dude in my 40's here too. My go to in warmer weather is having a light appetizer at the bar or a mexican restaurant by my house. Theres a large park with a lake real close and we make plans to walk around there afterwards. On the way I say I have to get something from the gas station and pick up a few shooters and some lotto tickets. There's a nice overlook at the waters edge that sets the mood. I can usually convince them to come over for some naked parcheesi afterwards lol.
The alcohol is key. Makes it easier for them to look past your deficiencies lol.

I loved dating after my divorce. I found you really stood out if you had a good job, home, and all your shit together. Seperated you from like...90% of the men on dating sites. It was fascinating....even met some significantly younger women who had to jump up in mens ages to find men who met the above criteria. I tried one on for size, waaaay to different for me but I now umderstand how it happens.
I do pretty well and dated some younger women as well. I did the sugar dating sites for a bit during/after the divorce, was kind of fun but didn't feel right. Women in their 20's are a lot different, but one thing I noticed with the younger women is that I'm ready to go for round 2 pretty quickly, where women my age I'm usually one and done for the night. And having to wear a condom again is torture.

The first is for the woman and her sense of safety. The second is for the man and his wallet. The third is for both.
The first date is to verify that your looks match your pictures, and to get a sense if you both want to have better second date. That is the mindset going in.
It’s a good thing when a potential first date wants something bigger. You know she is high maintenance, and her interest might only be for a free night out. You can proceed, or not, with knowledge you would have otherwise had to discover later.
