OT: Brexit

Plus, just to lay devil's advocate, let's say they did have a re-vote, and this time the vote failed. Think about the Pandora's box of legal trouble you just exposed yourself to. Which vote do you honor? Do you vote a third time?

Temper tantrums can mean a lot of different things, it doesn't have to be child like with jumping up and down, it can be article after article calling people racists and xenophobe's and the like. That's what happening here, and it won't work.

The EU Chiefs are complaining the loudest and trying to make the divorce as difficult as possible because they're mad that they're losing power. The only way this turns ugly is if they impose restrictive tariffs (bad for both parties), otherwise this is a simple market correction.

The EU Chiefs are jilted lovers and are trying to turn this simple transaction into something it's really not.

tariff's won't happen unless they want their members to implode. britain's the 5th largest market in the world. the EU needs them to buy their products -- period.

this whole media deal... jilted lovers isn't a bad analogy. it's a gigantic hissy fit.

They won't vote again any time soon. They may revisit the issue at some point, but you can't just have "do over" votes on things where the outcome has already been decided at least once or the whole process becomes a farce...just ask our Congress. Home of creating a vote that's designed to fail so that you don't actually have to do anything but you can say, "See that? Those guys said no to the thing we need!"

Exactly right. Markets went up PRIOR to them leaving so them coming back down isn't a huge loss. End of World scare tactics to scare the masses. Pretty predictable, when things don't go according to plan. I can't imagine wanting to be a leading Country and "falling back" to the rest of the pack...

yep...when in doubt scream racist and xenophobe. Like clockwork, isn't it?

the thing is, unless the big government types stuff ballot boxes even more than usual, it's very likely that any re-vote would be even more in the favor of leaving.

why?

ever seen what happens when hissy fits are thrown in a family setting? the adults in the room that might have been on your side will go against you simply because you acted like a child.

i don't see why this would be any different.
